Here is a strange request, but one I need help with. My son, a highschool senior has to do a paper on an interesting life of someone over the age of 60 - it's like his biggest grade of the semester (and believe me he needs the help) All I need is someone to email me a brief of where they were born, their name, where they grew up, a brief outline of their life, accomplishments etc.; some camparisons of cost then and now etc.
This is especially difficult for my son as we have no relatives or know anyone that he could call, talk to etc. as far as an interview. (well we know of one person but they felt unable to assist)

I will really appreciate anyone who can help.

Well Karen today is my birthday and I am over 60. It is not a bad place to be.
My life has been a carousel ride of many ups & downs. Born in working class town of Massachusetts but lived my childhood in a nearby upscale town. I remember the ice man, coal cellars, the rag man, the knife sharpener and all the traveling merchants. In third grade we studied photography, even developing and printing our own photos and also biology where we disected frogs and pig fetuses. After grade 6 my schooling wasn't as much advanced but still good. I have lived in Mass, NH, NJ, and Florida.
I was married with child at the age of 16. My husband's take home pay in 1961 was $53/per week and our rent for a 3 room attic apartment was $17/per week. I remember when we could go out for a ride and put just a dollar or two in the tank and it would last for a week or more.
Today I live a comfortable and fun life. Just got a new job that starts at $900/wk. I do believe today 60's are the new 40's. I study belly dance, exotic dance, I am the queen of a Red Hat chapter, have a wide circle of the best friends in the universe and live my life fully. I go out often to dinner, dances, theater and concerts.
Not sure if this is what your son needs for his paper but am willing to share with him any further information via email should he be interested in more details.

I would like to thank everyone who responded so quickly to my request for assistance here. My son is interviewing someone. I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier when he told me about this assignment last week. This is truly a site that has a lot of wonderful and caring people and I thank all of you for the emails and the assistance. I am proud to be a part of such a caring community
