It says alot about a person, when they have posted a blog for anyone to read, yet won't post a comment that disagrees with their point of view. I don't find that this happens too often, but, sometimes it does. I have to wonder what these bloggers are hiding from? Themselves? The truth? Criticism?

I think that people who do this are definitely hiding.... hiding from the real world where everything is not so cut and dried, viewed not just in black and white but multiple shades of gray, and that it is actually okay to have differences of opinion. If everyone agreed on everything, then little progress would be made in many facets of life from technological advances, social reform, etc. Improvements in almost everything that could possibly be improved would simply stagnate, because everyone agreed that a theory was correct, instead of challenging something and causing deep thoughts which might lead to a more correct theory.

It also speaks volumes when a person makes plans then does not bother to follow through with them. Fear can get the best of any of us at times. But left unaddressed, it can rule your life, causing you to miss out on new experiences that you may have been able to enjoy... or not enjoy? Hey at least you had the courage to take the chance to find out.

So, the next time you post a blog, or simply have a conversation with someone and they disagree... be grateful for the alternate view point. It might be a valid point, it might be of little significance.. it just doesn't matter. It will give yourself an opportunity to see yourself in a whole new light. The next time you make plans, don't just bail out, unless its absolutely necessary. When you don't feel up to doing something, thats usually the time that you NEED to go do it.

I make comments based on what the blog is about. Not everyone agrees with anything I say ! lol
But that's alright ! Everyone has a right to their opinions. But if I cannot make a comment on someone's blog; simply because they "block" anyone from making their point across. I just simply go to the next blog. Or do something else more constructive , like writing my own ! lol

I know what you mean on both accounts. Bugs the living tar out of me to see that red bar that says "waiting to be approved." And breaking plans should be done, not discovered. I know when I break plans, there is a little twinge of guilt and a general feeling of discomfort, but I do it rather than just not show up because I'd like to save someone else the more hurtful feelings of being stood up.

You u need proof of me disagreeing with people, I will gladly give u them, lol

I dislike yes, people or friends

I want everyone to have thier own opinion, but don't think I am always going to agree with you, even if your my friend.

I enjoy being a free thinker, now, I won't just disagree because I am not crazy about the person either. I have proof of that too,lol

I've actually seen someone comment on their own blog stating they allow all comments when I know for a fact that they are not - an outright liar

sometimes it's their settings (which happens a lot) as well as their "preference" filters. (my own emails to some members wind up in their filtered email boxes for that reason)

because these are "blogs" and not "discussion forums", each individual has the right to control comments to their blog. it can be annoying, but that's the way blogs work.

a blog can be a statement, an essay or simply thoughts. if one wants discussion, they are invited to post in the discussion forums. allowing comments or not is a personal choice, but it's not necessairily "censorship".

ps people who are on "block" by a writer are blocked from commenting as well as email.
