Morning people...
I found myself with a few precious moments this morning before heading out to that dreaded 4 letter word...and thought I might share a little of the morning here with you.
I woke to the sound of the newest additions here this morning singing in their little bird houses around the house.. my tree swallows. This melody that they wake me to each morning is beautiful, almost rivals some of the finest symphonies that ever were written by the composers who worked feverishly to produce their works, while on the birds side, all they need to do is wake, be content, have some seed in their bellies and the songs fall from their little bodies like rain from a darkened sky.
Ms. Whiskey is first to greet me, outside my bedroom door, she makes tiny pawing sounds and greets me with her first "[I]mew" of the day. As I make my way to the kitchen to feed Ms. Brandy, she rises.. usually this is very difficult for her anymore as the arthritis in her left hip takes hold strongly overnight, most probably from her being stationary for so long.
I look out at the beauty that this little farmette affords my soul and I take a very long deep breath .. Friday is my day for the blessing of the house. I have taken a very old custom from one of my Native American friends and I have a roll of sweet grass and sage that I burn while I say my morning blessing prayer for the house and land.
I feed both the "indoor" critters and head out for the three little billy goats gruff (nay, they are not at all Billy goats {the 2 males and 1 female have all been "fixed"} but they are the cutest goats that have ever existed.. and I dare yall to prove me wrong. They are most appreciative of my visits as it seems this "ole woman" brings them feed... (grain {mixture of oats and some conncoction that is mixed at the local grain mills} and some hay, while I sprinkle the dewy covered grass lightly with some salt {old goater's trick to make them eat where you would like them to}). After a few moments watching them, I return upstairs to have that first wonderful cup of coffee and fill the bird feeders. And Friday is my day here in this little piece of heaven, that the garbage is picked up,so I get it ready to place on the end of my property abutting the road.
I then pack and get Abbey ready for the long trip to work.
But I only wish you all could take in all this beauty of the first blush of "awakening". It is much along the same peaceful venue of that first instance when the earth and all its animal inhabitants know that it is time to start the small period of slumber in order that their bodies regain some of the energy spent during the day.. the peacefulness and beauty of the awakening is slow, progressive and melodic. The colors in the morning skies always thrill me.. it is as if the Grand Master of all is sipping his coffee, while standing at His canvas and allowing His creative juices to course their way through His regal veins, much like each of us.. we are all granted that privilege of waking each morning to a fresh canvas. We are given our own palette (if you will .. of work, our abilities to create the type of day we want or the ability to cope with the day we are given through others).. we have a clear choice in the masterpiece we are creating.. we can paint it with the beautiful colors of warmth (reds, oranges, yellows) through our compassion to others, the "warmth" of our smiles to those we know and strangers (I had the pleasure of talking with a true gentleman yesterday while in line at target.. he was, I would guess, 4 and with his very fine looking dad... but the younger gentleman had my complete attention as he talked to me about the $5 he had and what he wanted to do with it.. his dad was "beaming" while listening to his young son tell me of his dreams that he would spend his fortune on.) This was a splash of the color of warmth on my canvas and because I so enjoyed the conversation, I allowed the brush to swirl and dip .. get the picture??? (ha sometimes I slay me.... )
Paint your canvas with things that make you "feel" warm, happy and loved (if not the type of love with man and woman.. love that others share with you, as the young boy did with me). Each of us has a touch of creative artist within our grasp.. hold on with both hands, let it warm your hearts, create awesome smiles and give us the food for lovely and warm memories.... I guess I am in a very happy reflective mood.. wonder the reason???? I know, but I am NOT telling!
And now.. grandpa's honor.. with a small dittie for your morning, mouth corner lifter (more commonly known as smiles): Woman walks into her doctor's office, scared of the strange development recent to the inside of her thighs... A green spot on the inside of each. They won't wash off, they won't scrape off, and they seem to be getting worse. The doctor assures her he'll get to the bottom of this, and that she needn't worry until tests come back. He sends her home. A few days later, the woman's phone rings. Much to her relief, it's the doctor. She immediately begs to know what's going on with these spots? "You're perfectly healthy--there's no problem. But I'm wondering: is your boyfriend a Harley guy?" the doctor asks. "Yes-----how did you know?" "Tell him his earrings aren't real gold." And for that one.. the guy in red on my left shoulder made me do it!!!

Thank-you for the beautiful lyrics -
My work environment is filled with back stabbers and those that want to make trouble for others - and yet there are a precious few who are priceless.
Make adversity work for you - believe in yourself - remain positive
I know I am where I am at for a reason and I may never know the exact reason, but I am going to pass the test and move on.
I decided to attend school full-time in addition to working full-time - this is a gift to myself to finally get the degree for my experience so that I can do something different in my work life -
God Bless You,
Cheri

Beautiful statement of a Truth. My life has stolen the earliest morning hours from me of late, but now that summer is nigh it's time to go find them again.
Thank you for a really nice piece to read with this first cuppa joe here.

Another lovely blog! After God created everything he then breathed life into his creations - That is what your morning portrait reminds me of.
The first prayer Jews say in the morning - "I am grateful to You, Lord our God, enduring King, for restoring my soul to me in compassion - Abundant is your faithfulness!
I think I may have met your Granddaddy before - hmmmmm!
