It was a sweet calm rainy memorial day here.
We saved a couple of turtles from being run over yesterday and the girls let them go this morning. They came back nice little Red Oklahoma women with a look of "" oh boy! are we gonna get it .
As I sat back and enjoy watching them playing Nintendo with their hair in towels I couldn't help but think of the men and women that are out there without their families. I imagine they are so scared. I know they would give so much just to could hear their children's voices for just one moment while they are fighting a fight that they didn't start.
It is because of them that I can relax and smile, it is because of them no one will wipe the smile from my face as they drag us from our home and kill us today. It is because of them I will fall asleep in my soft warm dry bed tonight and awaken to the sound of my husband breathing beside me. To each and everyone of these men, women and their families I say thank you for all that you are doing. To those that will not return when this is over I say , I will work hard to teach my children to live right and tell them how your sacrifice allows us to live a free life every day. It is men and women like you that keeps America the land of the free and you are our brave.
