***I took out a few things that pertained to legal matters since the deed accompanied this letter but other than that, this is my letter.

We’ve come a long way, Baby! It was only yesterday I held you in my arms and you were so very tiny and helpless. Today you stand before me a man. Handsome, intelligent, funny, and graduating from high school. I remember the first day I put you on the school bus for pre-K. I cried that day, too. I thought then, 2007, the year you would graduate, was so very far away. Now it is here.
After your father left, there were so many times I would sit and rock you while you slept, singing softly to you, “It’s Me and You Against the World”. Sometimes, I felt you were more my rock, than I, yours. The only thing that matters is that we got through it together; we are survivors.
We’ve had our ups and downs, our arguments, and, Lord knows, all the mistakes I made as a single mother trying to raise a son alone. But through it all, through the shouting, through the tears, through the anger, there has always been one thing that shone through like a beacon....the love. I loved you before you were even born; I loved you all throughout the years; I love you now; and as I’ve told you many times, I’ll always love you.
I have tried to raise you with a love for God and His Kingdom. You have heard the story of Jesus since you were a small child old enough to understand. At age six, on the third anniversary of your Pawpaw’s death, January 8, 1995, you accepted Jesus as your own Lord and Savior. It’s odd; I have no idea the date I made a decision to follow Christ, but I know the exact day you did. I only know I was nine years old. Even as proud as I am of you on this day, the day you graduate from high school, I was even prouder that day. You stepped up and took a stand at that young age.
This is your graduation present from me and Mama and Daddy. It is the land that they left to me in trust for you. It is your heritage, Son. As Gerald O’Hara told his daughter in Gone with the Wind, “Katie Scarlett, the land is the only thing in the world worth working for, worth fighting for, worth dying for, because it's the only thing that lasts." Take care of it, Daniel. I entrust it to your hands and heart.

I love you, My Son, and I always will,

Is this the same son wrote you recently?

Jun 5 @ 2:44PM
Yes, he is my only child. We both almost died before he was born and he weighed only 3 lbs. 10 oz. In answer to another question, I've already given the letter to him. I had the letter and deed in a box which I left in bed beside him the morning of his graduation, May 25. He was very touched and came to my office to give me a hug and thank me. He has grown into a wonderful man. His plans now are to become a registered nurse, although he has also considered the criminal justice field and becoming a federal marshall. I just want him to be happy whatever he decides to do with his life!
