Sunday evening was a rainy day. I looked outside the window and told hubby that I didn't like the look of things out there. I saw no report of a tornado watch or warning for our area on TV so I relaxed and sat in my recliner watching the rain and the trees blowing in the wind through the dining room window. Suddenly I heard a metal on metal type sound and something went past the window. Hubby was standing in the kitchen looking out the window and he said holy sh*t the storage building just flew past the window. I sat there for a few seconds in shock and then I said awe, Sh*t !!! The lawn mower and the weed eater!! Hubby said, " it is to late. " I said like heck it is. I grabbed the wrong shoes, threw them on my feet, and wearing my daughters crocks headed out the front door. I ran to the overturned lawn mower and grabbed the weed eater in one hand and half dragged the lawn mower toward the back door screaming , " open the back door!!!" Hubby opened the door and I hoisted both up to him like Rambo woman. Note to self: Income tax time we will buy back steps before anything else. I then ran back around to the front of the house realizing suddenly as lightening lit up the sky very close to me that this was also a storm with lots of electric activity. Then I became scared, and thought twice about touching the metal screen door. Inside the house it came to me that I had two metal pieces of lawn equipment in my hand moments before running with them and wasn't scared one bit. I felt like a soaking wet fruit loop in a room full of corn flakes. Thank you to the one that made sure the electric struck the electric pole and not me. Thanks to the electric company dudes that worked so hard to have our electric back up and running in three hours. My hubby is also a fruit loop and had us walking around outside right after the storm past so we could see how many trees had been destroyed. A good thing happened while we were walking around and I met my neighbor across the street for the first time. She is a sweet heart, and we could be life long friends but dog gone it! Texas will be getting another sweet heart in one year. Speaking of friends. I have a friend that i have know for 18 years and when we moved to the city I lost track of her. I had no idea where she had moved. we moved back to my home town I kept thinking about her so much and wanted to find her. I had no idea she was thinking about me to. I answered an ad for some clothes and found out the woman was my best buds mom. My friend and her three children came by for a visit today , we talked and had so much fun. I didn't realize how much I had missed her until today. More good news: I am almost afraid to say anything for the fear of the jinx Munster, But.... they are supposed to dig me a new well tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed that I will have clean water this time and a good strong clean well. I am so ready to be the happy home maker and wash clothes every day and clean and clean until all races of dirt is vanquished. Never thought I would say that one. My sisters best friend also has a heart of gold. She made my daughter so happy today. She gave her a full size bed. This wonderful woman came over with my sis, delivered it and set the bed up. She gave my baby the matching beside lamp, the matching beside rug , pillows and the comforter set. My daughter thinks she is in heaven. My oldest child now has two twin beds in her room and is planning on having all her friends stay over asp. I think for today I can say it has been a very different time this week, than last week.
