Monday, I bought a bunch of new bath towels. To 'break them in' I washed them separately (from the older towels) on the heavy duty cycle and put them through the dryer. Today, I used a new towel and I'm covered in lint.
As I rub my eyes, pieces of lint are on my eyelashes and eyebrows.

Tonight.... they all go back for another washing or two, just to get the lint out.

Haven't bought a towel in years, the older they get the softer

Older towels absorb better too. Also, I noticed because they are fluffier, I can't wash as many new towels per load as older towels.

Yeah, those new Micro-Fiber towels aren't worth a hoot! It's as thought they were covered in teflon, they don't absorb the water, they just seem to push it around a bit! Arrrrrghhhhhhh

I like Bed, Bath and Beyond, once a year Elephant Sale, with the old style towels. I buy a bunch of the huge beach towels, the real thick ones, that the kids and I can wrap around ourselves. Thick, cotton terry cloth. They are hell to dry, but feel so good on the skin. If you want to get all the lint off of something: take your favorite sweat or pair of dress slacks, and put it in the dryer for just a minute, I promise it will all stick to that item. But then it's like the spots on the wall in the Cat in the Hat, how do you get rid of that?

Yeh new towels can be a pain in the butt. I bought 2 new ones the other day, figured I'd save money so bought them at a dollar store. For some reason, even after I washed them they felt like they had some kind of film on them so when I went to dry with them, they didn't absorb the water, grrrrr, they are better now after repeated washings, but I doubt I'll buy them there again. At least I avoided your lint problem.

I hate that! especially when they are colored towels. You have to get back in the shower just to wash all the purple pieces off your bofy.

I like the old fashioned large cotton dish towels of old. Hard to find anymore. Any ideas?
