Would it no be more meaningful if this special day were called Dad's Day instead of Fathhr's Day. We all have a father but there are many who do not have a Dad. I would think this special day should be reserved for those who were there for their children and who stuck by them through the good times and the bad ones who gave them the srentgh to face each day and to mature into adults. To many out there these "Dad's" have no real blood relationship but they were the ones who stepped in and chose to give love and protection to some who were abandoned for one reason or another. This day should be there special day and not just a day to remember who your biological father is.
Almost any male can be a Father but it takes someone special to be a Dad.

and oh so few real *Dads
therefore my hat goes of to ALL the MEN who are DADS......be it to their own, or to somebody elses.......

You are 100% right.My 15 year old son bought a card for one of his friends Dad.This man is a single dad raising his son alone and my son has a great relationship with him.He is always there for him and a true father figure to him unlike his own father,he hasn`t seen him in years.

Very well said greywolf - bad Fathers are the scourge of our country - this idea that children do not need a Father present in their life is insane! If women wrote the laws all of these "dead beat dads" would be in jail - and should be! THat would be the beginning!
