I just do not get this world. I can't understand knowing someone that lives in your block is suffering and going without the basic needs in life and doing nothing not even offering them a piece of bread and some butter. I can not for the life on me understand why anyone would take another persons life unless they are protecting their young. I just do not get the me, me ,me, money is all I want and need mentality that so many people have now.
I can't understand walking by an elderly person struggling to open a door and not helping them or worse walking in before them and closing the door in their face.
I can't understand why the world has become so bad that offering to hold a woman's child while she struggles to open her car door has to be refused because you might take her child and run.
I can't understand turning your back on others and ignoring their pain because we do not feel the need or want to help them.
I hear people say they probably wouldn't even tell me thanks. I don't understand , Why do we need thanks? Isn't knowing we made a difference in a life enough thanks? When it is all said and done, we all die.
The only way there is anything to show we were here at all is the peoples lives we touch and their memories of us. I don't understand why the world has changed so much that we have to be afraid to talk to strangers and so we don't make new friends.
I don't understand this world. I am not considered normal anymore. I do not fit in with this current cruel world. I long for days that will never come back to us, a much sweeter time when people loved their fellow man with all their hearts, danced together with all their hearts, and took the time to smell the roses together. I long for a time when trees covered the world instead of cement and animals ran free without fear of a car killing them and people bonded together and helped one another , and everyone in your neighborhood was your family, and you shared your life and your abundance with them.

All too short ago, as more women entered the work force, and children spent hours alone, the keeping up with the Joneses down the street seemed to be the defining element in our lives. Western idealism, is "To Do Good" while the Eastern Ideal of "Do No Harm", have changed, but, we basically as people have not. I refuse to believe that as humans, we would let another go hungry. Or that anyone takes pleasure in seeing the homeless or the poor go without housing. That medication is unaffordable. It seems that as our government, one to which generations named their children after presidents, has become one that is under constant suspect, and guilt ridden by officials actions. I know there are those who will never care. I am lucky I guess, in the fact that we lived on small farms when I was growing up and the cross stitch in the kitchen read, "To Eat Well, and Let the Neighbor Go Hungry, Is To Suffer One's Self". The world isn't filled with evil people, lurking behind bushes, or corrupt officials, serving just themselves. The majority of people in the world are good. The majority of the people in this world want to see others do well. The saying is "I can't change the world, but I change my role in it".

This might sound crazy but the worlds people have not changed at all....I think people now are simply more informed thru the media, internet...We now get bombed with information all the time..We have cable/satellite tv..We see things that we did not know were going on in the world because not too long ago there was no internet and cable/satelite tv...
There is more beauty and love in this world at all times than you think, believe me...I am not blind and not ignorant to the changes the world has under gone since my childhood...As people grow older their attention is no longer on homework or going out to play...They become serious, see pollution, animals being wiped out of existance, people getting killed, etc..Sure it is not pleasant but despite that the world is a very beautiful place...Try to stop looking at all the terrible things and look at how much love and beauty is out there...You'll be very surprised how much there is.....

You can make a difference all by yourself.
I still remember my cardboard, dyed purple on the front with the words stamped or printed out in gold glitter..... that I proudly displayed for anyone to see more years than I can say....... I am thinking about 40, till it was lost in moving one of those past times.
"Do Unto Others, As Ye Would Have Them Do Unto You"
I sometimes forget this........ and feel terrible too. I have actually left my groceries in the hot trunk to go back across the parking lot and back inside the store to say I was sorry for being so short or rude. I don't like having to say I am embarressed and so very, very wrong, so I do try to do better.....to be a better person....... plus, I believe it will come back to me in the end. Either way, so why not make it better now and always and forever?
Now as far as being rude to any elderly, or disabled person....... that is just not acceptable at any time..... even if you have had the worst of the worst day.
And as far as everyone in your neighborhood being family........ LOL..... there has always been the evil. Just that I think when we were little kids, it was more contained?
And to be unkind or ignore someones suffering next door to you is more than unkind and how these folks rest at night or whenever is beyond me. I know I have them in my small neighborhood. So....... you be the one to make that difference!

I believe that there is hope for humanity even though the numbers have fallen through the years of ppl that really care ... I donate alot of time helping ppl around where i live and i have meet alot of kind and caring ppl ... At some point in time it will become clear to ppl that we r all family.. I hear ppl say it is not the world that is changing but the ppl they may be right but..... with todays struggles to support famailies ppl do not have the time to do anything eles but survive ... I am not sure what goes on outside where i have lived but i have found the it is the poor that donate most of the time I guess they have been there and learned a valuable life lesson ... U all be well atke care i wish u all enough
