This morning my oldest child was helping make tortillas and my husband says loudly, " me me burned her wrist, check it out." I was expecting to see a tiny bit of red skin but nothing bad because she never cried out. She walked over to me and shows me her wrist. She has a good half dollar sized spot missing skin. It looked bad to me. I could tell it was a second degree deep burn. When I get a second degree burn it is one thing when it is my baby it is another. I think she is dealing with it better than I am.
I feel so bad for the parents of the boy that was lost swimming in the creek yesterday. They have an area on the land that joins ours that floods every time it rains. It is down the hill from us, it looks like a creek right now. My youngest child seems to be fascinated by the water swirling around and asked to get a closer look. Even after I told her why she could not and how dangerous it could be she seemed to be drawn by that water and kept looking out the window watching it. She is now on must be in my sight every moment watch until the water goes down. She is a good child and minds well, but I am not taking a chance that she might not mind me this time. My watermelon plants are loving the rain, and my tomatoes are full of blooms and tiny tomatoes. We went to his moms today and on the way back a katidid hitched a ride. It was funny to watch it looking like a hood ornament trying not to fall off all the way home . I told hubby she thought his old brown tank of a car was a big ole tree. LOL
