I don't know about women's photos, but why do some men actually put in a photo that is so obviously fake, like a male model photo? Every hair in place, teeth so white they would blind you in person, oh ya, and those abs! Oh and the very EXPENSIVE sports car they are sitting in! Do they really think we believe they pose around the house in that state? One guy on here looked like the cover of GQ and in his profile he had a PhD huh? Not that it couldn't ever happen, but not likely on a singles site.

I like the email I get from the younger girls that are models...And all are on here because they just don't have the time to date and have read my profile and knew at that moment I was the one for them....So I write back and say OMG, I'm old and ugly and you want me? Just give me your address so I can wire you the money you need to make your modeling a little easier, at this time I can only send $ 10,000.oo. You would not believe how many actually give me their "agent" name and tell me to use western union...

What an interesting question. The bottom line is I have no idea why anyone would dare not put their real picture on here......at all. Physical misrepresentation is just beyond me. I have met several people on here at functions. They would all tell you I was about what they had expected. Some of them were and some were not.  If you think about it the first thing about actually meeting someone is their appearance, if they don't look the same what are you supposed to do, say "well they only misrepresented by a few inches, color of hair and weight, I can write that off"....NO......the first meeting is conceived in a lie and the whole relationship is a lie.
I have checked my profile I am all who I say I am good, bad or indifferent.
As David Brinkley or someone said years ago ......"warts and all". I think I shrank another 1/4 inch since my last picture. Dammm.

Tsk, tsk. You're projecting, LivinProof. See, you assume (as is only human nature) that people put their profiles up on dating web sites because they're looking for a date, or a "match." Now, see, you and I suffer from constipated thinking here. Definitely inside the box. We think, "I want someone interested in who I actually Am!" So we fill out our questionnaires truthfully and put up photos that, well, maybe we picked the ones that showed us in the best like (maybe not; some of them I wonder), and we want to find out who is interested in US. So, you look at your motivation for being here, and you can't understand why someone would put up a fake profile and picture, because obviously anyone they attract that way, well, there's a good chance they're not attracted to the Real them.
Well... The reason they do that... The why... is... uh...
uh.....
uhmmm..... er....

It's REALLY dumb if you ask me.
One guy told me he was 6 ft. 2; had light brown hair; green eyes and he was 44 years old at the time. He had a pic that matched that description. Okay. Well I meet the guy for dinner and he's FIVE FOOT 2; black haired; thin as a stick and ASIAN! And to top it all he was TWENTY-TWO NOT 44.   I went to slam the door in his face and he said, "Missus - me tell you why me do that. My dream to have very tall, white, blond woman deflower me. You're it." I didn't know whether to laugh in his face or slam the door in it. I slammed the door in it. Goodbye liar.
Another guy had a pic of a man with BROWN hair and he looked 50. A tiny bit of silver in his hair but very attractive. Well when I met him at the local gas station, an elderly man got out of a red pickup truck and I thought 'this can't be him - he's way too old." Well it WAS him! He knew my first name! He had snow WHITE hair; a long white beard and looked like Captain Kangaroo!!!!!!!!!!! He was at LEAST 15 to 20 years older than the man in the pic! I asked him about it. He said "oh that was a pic of me 18 years ago. I thought it was the best one I ever took so I put THAT one on the dating site."  I almost said, "well send your SON and you can go home" but that would have been rotten. Oh and yes he WAS 18 years older than he said in his profile! He was SIXTY-EIGHT - not 50. He said the reason he lied about his age was to attract women MY age and younger. He didn't WANT a woman his age. Well LIAR what if I tell you I don't want a man YOUR age! Needless to say that date ended very abruptly.
You can't lie so blatantly and expect that people are just going to accept it and believe anything you say after that. This isn't a game, people. This is people's EMOTIONS we're talking about. You've already eroded the trust by lying to them so why would they ever even WANT to get to know you. Be real, people. Warts and all. If people don't like you for what and who you are, forget it. It isn't going to work so lying will only get your foot in the door as in a first 'date' - real gets you a second date so be real, people.

Yeah, you know I had that series of pictures of me in my male-thong and I really thought I would post on here ... but considering the number of casualties caused by some of those Weapons of Mass Distruction I thought I had better take it easy on your girls ...... the guilt from so many blinded women was more than I could stand ......... convulsive laughter is a cause of blindness, isn't it??????

Ok let me be sort of...the devil's advocate for a sec here, if I may. Certainly NOT in defense of the guy you're referring to, I think I've gotten mail from him or someone like him at least once. BUT....I am a model, I do it part time, have been in the profession since I was really young. Some of my photos are glamour shots that are taken out of my portfolio, I admit that. But a lot of them aren't. I state in my profile about my modeling career, along with my "normal" career. I get mail all the time asking if my pics are fake, etc. I've met people from this site in person, had a few dates (one was a guy who was like 15 yrs older than he said he was and couldn't figure out why I didn't want to stick around). So you see, not all of the ones who LOOK fake, are. I'm sure a good number, are. It's easy to copy pics from the net. There's ways to tell. Is it stupid and sad? Of course. But it's not fair to categorize every picture that looks professional.

Alivenwell........ where the heck have you been, dating??? I never thought of the glamour shots for women, BUT they are obvious fu fu shots, will all the boa around the neck and big hats and too much macup.... sorry ladies.
Mystic, you are one in a million frankly and thanks for checking in, but you also put a number of other shots of yourself on here, most men just use the one they can download off the internet.
Yes, I understand those men are insecure and don't really know how to get a woman's interest and that is why they do it, but it really is such a waste of both our time.
