is my iridescent buddys name. Crash is a Nanday Conure, a type of small parrot.

My bird-obsessed nephew got him for free from a rescue service and I ended up rescueing Crash from him. You know how kids are about taking care of animals...
His previous owner apparently threw him a against a wall, or something on that order. The damage to his left wing came from some powerful impact, relative to a six ounce bird's perspective. He can stil fly a little bit, though, and stalks around with impunity.
He began his ownership of me one morning when my brother in law brought him in to work to get him out of my niece and nephew's house, because the cats were not kind... Crash shrieked continuously, so the cage was covered more, and more, and... he looked pretty neglected and despondent in there.
John put the cage in a sunny spot and man-handled the hostile little hookbill from home to work, 30 miles. A large task since Crash bites. Quite the little terrorist if you piss him off, which was realllly easy to do back then. He was scared and insecure, I'm guessing. A bit of blood was drawn, anyways *from John, that is*, and a lot of holes were poked *in John, that is*. Checkout his beak, it's scary.
Crash's life changed radically that morning, no more cats. Now it was barking dogs, lots of them, loud and boisterous.
But nothing like what a Nanday can do. I read that they need to call to each other over great distances, so they have great, incredibly loud voices.
Crash surveyed the milling, deafening pack, then let out a jungle shriek. The poor dogs were stunned, totally dismayed, dead silent, big eyed and worried-faced. Crash shrieked again just for good measure, beginning to let them know who was boss. Beamer the basset had lost his alpha status to a bird.
