There's been some weird bug hopping around our bathroom lately. Well, I should say there was one hopping around as someone killed it and thoughtfully left it laying on the floor.
It bore a vague resemblance to a Black Widow, a grasshopper, and a fly all at once. The resemblance to the grasshopper is mainly how it hops. When it's just crawling it looks nothing much like them, actually.
Thing is, the one in the bathroom appeared to be mostly benign to me. Possibly not to it's assassin, though!
There was one in my bedroom that attacked my leg one morning whilst I was sitting at the computer and bit a whole in it. My leg, people; not the computer! So that was disconcerting!
Just now I found another one in my bedroom: it was hiding in my swim shorts! Good thing I shook them out good, eh?

I think every bug is carniverous, for some reason, must be cause of the fact they creep me out, they all bite me. Even ones that allegedly don't bit. Heard that then was bit and my whole leg felt like it was on fire, good time. I hate bugs.

Hey..hope your leg is OK...there are such bugs but not too common here in the US...in Mongolia there are carnivorous flies that can swarm and kill large animals...including humans...have you caught one alive yet???

BUG BOMB.....Beats being bitten. Close the windows and put everything eatable away. Set it in the floor or area to be covered might need more than one. Mask on face, set it off with no one or animals in the house and run like heck! Go to the park or somewhere for two hours. Then open all the windows, turn on all fans and air and leave again for an hour or so. Clean all counters or anyplace small ones crawl or sit such as floors. It does work I had spiders at my old place and it keeps on working for about 90 days! Depending on the brand. I would not take chances.
It almost sounded like a cricket but they don't bite, anyone but Chickee poo! And they play music! And eat other bugs... so you might just go colllect some crickets...

Is there such a thing as a carnivorous grasshopper? Yep. I dated one back in the '90's.

err .. that "spawn of hell" picture actually comes pretty close, only it was definitely black and it definitely has wings.
And it's definitely not a Cricket, unless it's a mutated one, lovely people, because I was in Texas in the mornings (in 6th grade) and done seen all the big black crickets I needed to see to know that much.
It bit me .. hey, since I am mostly Irish (by blood), if it was a potato bug, I am so suing someone for racial discrimination! That's a definite ethnic slur if I ever heard one!
LOL

Yep. I dated one back in the '90's. Yes, and I had some severe fantasies about one based on the tv show 'Kung Fu' back in the 80's.. *grin* .. but let us not go there!

Reply And get cancer . No I'm not wishing that one you, just beaware that most bug sprays are read by the body as pseudoestrogens and have been linked to cancer and have a long residial life span ;long after the smell goes away. I don't use anything in my house our yard thst isn't biodegradable and enviromentally friendly. A great such product is boric acid.

A great such product is boric acid. And where do you get boric acid? I used to just be able to find it near the pharmacy where I lived but when they started tightening up on things that could be used for bombs, attacking your neighbors, making drugs, etc. they quit selling boric acid. Which sucks as it is also good for treating Pink Eye.
So, that was not an argumentative question, honestly: where do you get it?
Thanks

I've bought it at Walmart and Home Depot among the pest control products, it is a white powder, just read the ingredience to make sure it is 100 percent boric acid.
