Why do women who are 5' 0" to 5'5" always requesting 6' guys?  And what? we just don't mix that well? I'd like some real honest feed back on this. I don't have a problem making friends or other wise with women, I'm sorry I don't have a pic, but in most cases it's my personality that wins over. Are people really that shallow? As open as our gen. has become, I hope not, Peace.

Do we "stick with our own height" now? I always hear men complaining about this
Why do fat men want thin women? Do we "stick with our own weight" too? What about "stick with our own race"? "Stick with our own hair colour"? God...
Honestly, I like tall, muscular men because I like to feel protected.

I am not sure why women do that ...I myself am 5 foot 8 and to be honest have never really cared about height. Most of the guys I have dated have been shorter than me. I think alot of women have a problem with the way society has led people to believe the man should be taller than the women. This probably does not help you get to the bottom of your question but its just an opinion.

I like taller men because I am taller. I am 5'10", so being with someone shorter than me makes me feel superior and not safe (the knight in shining armour theory). I like to look up into my mans eyes, have him stand behind me and wrap his arms around me without being muffled in my hair, or rest his chin on the top of my head. I know that sounds stupid, but that's how I feel about it. I am a big girl, so I want a big man!! 
It's all a matter of personal preference   I have a friend who is 5'8" and her husband is 5'6", so it all just depends on the person I guess

Well, personally I just don't like to date someone shorter than myself. Not anything personal, just a preference.. not a status thing with me, either my height or taller works.

For me personally...being 5'2" I am used to being shorter than everyone else so when I come across someone shorter than myself it feels a little awkward. Simply because I am not accustomed to being able to look eye to eye with someone. Of course I don't turn away a man simply for this reason and am currently dating a 5'2" man but this might explain why some short women like taller men.

I understand Storming's inability to understand this, as I don't understand it myself.
Sure, I understand preferences, and frankly, yes, I'm indoctrinated with enough Bollywood images, I imagine (and would probably prefer) a lady shorter than myself. But he's right about the ones who are 5'0" saying they want a TALL man. I'm 5' 7" and too short for their stated range of what they are looking for. I'm truly amazed at the number of profiles I see that all say they're looking for someone 5' 10" or taller, when they're more than a half-foot shorter than that. I can understand a few saying "That's my preference is I want someone a LOT taller than me," but there really is a predominance of it.

I've seen that quite a few times on here and wondered about it. I understand wanting a guy that's taller--my preference is my height or taller (but I wouldn't not talk to someone because of height). What I don't understand is so many short women wanting guys 6 inches or a foot taller.

That's interesting because I seem to attract men who are 5'10" and up. I prefer shorter men like around my height. All my life it's been the taller men and at first I didn't want that. Of course their personality won out.
If it was my choice, it would be closer to 5'4" so that we could do many things standing..... 
Otherwise I have to stand on a step stool.....

. Personal preference. I've know men my height and shorter who get allllllllll the ladies.... . It's all relative. I think a lot of women just pick a number because of the category specific questions. If I was dating, and a man my height or shorter won me over, I wouldn't care. But then again....I'm an eyes girl.......hmmmm.
