Well it seems that the government here in my home state of Arkansas has outdone itself this time. They passed a new law this year which has been signed and in effect as I write this blog. The intent of the new law was honorable and made much sense, Set the age for marriage at 18 unless it was a pregnant teenager and then it could be allowed with parental consent.
Sounds okay, right. There is no telling how many hundreds of people read this legislation as it was being discussed and even as it was being voted on. Then it had a formal review to "insure" that the language was correct. I woul dhope that the Govenor also read it or someone on his staff before it was signed into law but again they failed us.
Sadly that is not what is now the law here and it appears that a special session of the State Legislature will be required to correct the problem. The cost of this willof course be born by the taxpayers who have no choice in the matter at this point.
Thinnk you have heard everything, well read this article and youj will be amazed and realize just how bad our government can screw things up.

Just another reason I'm glad I don't have kids. Then again, most kids would be more competent running our governments than what we have running them now. Proofreading obviously is not one of the top priorities of lawmakers.

I heard awhile back...not sure if its true or not...but do ya'll have a law in which it states you cannot smoke in your cars?? I heard that and thought to myself...they are going OVER the damn line. They do not pay out car pmts...or the insurance or the cost of fixing cars when something goes wrong...who the hell are they to say what we can and cannot do in our cars??? I do not live in Ark.

Oh my gosh! I can already see the babies crawling up the steps of the wedding chapel. Sheesh. What gets me, is the article says they wont meet again until 2009. I think they should fix this goof up ASAP.
