It's once again around 5 am sunday August 19 and I just came back in the house from looking at Orion
I went in to edit my play list on my space and as I was searching for music, I had an off the wall idea, so I started typing the words in not really expecting to find my request, I hit enter and glorioski, there it was, I added it imediately and am listening to it now as I type this, this sure does bring back memories, back home they use to re-play this on the radio every halloween , we would take a break from the modern marvel of television and listen as mom would bake pumpkin seeds and we sipped warm Michigain apple cider with the sound of a fire crackleing in the fire place, dad would be going through the treasures that we collected earlier to make sure that they were safe to eat, and as payment he would snag the occasional milky way, ofcorse my favorite was the ultimate halloween candy "Smartees"
the broadcast would start and as the green faced witch and Captain America (my sister and I)sipped cider and munched down on pumpkin seeds, a different time came creeping slowly into the living room, a time when the world was more innocent there were no fancy computer generated sound effects, no edits, it was all live, its hard to believe that on that halloween night so many years ago, the nation was shocked and actually believed that Orson Wells was running for his life from alien invaders from mars in the H.G Wells tale of war of the worlds. I love old radio shows and this is the grand daddy of them all.
this presentation will be a permanent resident on my space, I even put it in the number one slot, if you get a chance to hear this broad cast it will be a well spent hour out of your life, cant wait for the cider to come in so I can sit back and do it right.
