these are not my words, they were posted on a bulletin on my space page, but I thought they meant alot
Since the Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord's Prayer
are not allowed in most public schools anymore because
the word 'God' is mentioned....a kid in Arizona wrote the attached
NEW School prayer. I liked it.
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong.
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen
If you aren't ashamed to do this,
please pass this on.
Jesus said,
'If you are ashamed of me,
I will be ashamed of you before my Father.'
Not ashamed. Pass this on.

and you have the right to your opinion..... only because that right is protected by men stronger braver and more valliant than you....
If you don't like it MOVE..... (preferablly south) he he he..... we are a little short on alligator bait this year. Yes, this is an open invitation.
The politicians afraid of not being re elected, and the supreme court justices for some unknown reason, want to allow the opinions of a few curtail the beliefs of the many....

there was no sermon there, only the expression of the way YOU, and other SAD SACKS like YOU.... have been given the liberty to cry and whine about this being ONE NATION UNDER GOD.....

Geez, I didnt mean ta open a 6 pack of cans of worms here, I just thought it was nice that a kid came up with this, at least they are still payin attention, I believe strongly in" to each his own" but when a person can loose theyre job because they wear a necklace with a cross on it, or someone is slamed because they are bowing to ala, or someone ios ridiculed for their belief in budah or someone is shuned because they simply refuse to believe, that aint right, in other words if it offends you, turn your head away and dont listen for the 1 second that the word god is mentioned in the pledge, I promise, you will live through it, and you will walk away no worse for ware and ask that folks respect your beliefs in return, I aint the most religious person in the world , but the point is personal prefrance and plain simple respect
Sorry I offended some, it was done in innocence, but hey guess what...the world is still here, your still reading your computer and it will all happen again tomarrow and you will go on livin, God willin, oops, did I say that, aw shit here we go again

Sad but true, If people will stop and look at our AMERICA, We are a mess we are headed down the forbidden path, There is no return. Get you head out of the sand. Or some politicians arse. It started with taking prayer out of school and look at our society. Look how far it has gone, Just like everything in the world. Greed smothers. The few that got their way. We still have The Ten Commandants and the Lord's Prayer on the walls in all our school classrooms. We still have a prayer at football games. Mississippi passed its own law giving us the right to do so. Why did not other states pass the same law?
I thought it was a good blog.

Um, just some technical clarification. This wasn't "One Nation Under God" until 1954, when the original Pledge was "adjusted" at the height of the anti-communist "Red Scare" and Cold War.
The original "Pledge of Alligience" was written by Francis Bellamy in 1892:
“I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
He made no mention of God. 
I'm old and that's the version I learned as a little kid.
There are also some Christian denominations who object to "pledging to a flag" as idoltry. 
(BTW, there are a number of different versions of the Lord's Prayer, too...not every Christian in the world uses the same one -- and not every school child in this country is Christian, either)
