..........stranded with no hope of rescue. No one ever shows up to rescue them and the one ship that got near enough, saw who they were and sailed away quickly. Finally they all die agonizing deaths from exposure and thirst and starvation. Crabs eat their bodies leaving only three bleached skeletons, which are quickly covered up by sand and surf, and forgotten forever. Real champions arise and take center stage and the world slowly begins to loose the unpleasant taste left lingering on their palate. A couple bad apples, that's all. Don't let them ruin your taste for the pie. This is no joke. Forget these guys. Let them go on with the book deals and bistros and side bets to cover their asses. There's no island for them.....yet. But someday there may be and I only hope they install a web cam for all the kids to see what happens to Liars, Cheaters, and Worse. Sure the Babe was drunk half the time and Ted Williams may have been an SOB but they still never crossed the line from scofflaw to "outright criminal". I've taken the liberty to secure an option on "Devil's Island"..........now to invite these guys for a free golf weekend and a complimentary condo...........

I agree. Pete Rose should not be there. and furthermore, the commissioner of baseball should get his head out of his @$$ and let Pete into the Hall of Fame where he belongs. what Pete did off the field certainly was not right, but it had nothing to do with his skills as a player on the field. and ironically if a murderer (found guilty or not) didn't get ousted from the NFL Hall of Fame because of his off the field conduct, then Rose should be given the same consideration. the only thing Pete killed was his reputation.

What about Darryl Strawberry, Barry Bonds, and Shawn Kemp? Can't they go too? Or Tanya Harding and John McEnroe?

A liar isn't as bad as a murderer, no, but all are POOR examples for our children.

Then, let the person who wasn't lied about something throw the first stone at Pete.
I know it's YOUR imaginary island Gary, but I still protest. While he did apparently bet on baseball, while he was a manager (not a player), which is against the rules, there is no evidence that he changed the outcome of any game. I think his current punishment has been severe enough, without sticking him on some island with 2 murderers (human & pet). At least he didn't slaughter the losers.
As a player, no one has more hits and he was an excellent role model as a player, eliciting his nickname, Charley Hustle. He deserves to be in the hall of fame as a player, not a manger. Again, just my opinion.

As a player, charley hustled enough hits to be in the hall of fame.
BUT: He bet AGAINST his team, as manager. How is that not Proof??
