Please don't post a blog or ask a question with a blog and then walk away from your computer or go to work. Change your settings to Auto Approve if you are not going to "keep up" with your blog. When you ask a question or post a debatable subject, people want to add their opinions and hear others views on it. You can't have discussions if your words are never read by others..............right?
You are just throwing something out there that no one will ever hear different sides of or added information upon..........

Why do they not just set it to pre-approved anyway??? Its a double hassle for us and them when they finally do stroll around...

word.
it makes stuff look like "news" when the first few people don't do due diligence on it. someone else looks up the information, finds that it's not true, tries to post it, and voila! nobody at all benefits. unless everyone that read it to begin with follows up, they will still be as in the dark as before about it.

I use to have it set to wait for my approval, and your right, it is a hassle. For about 3 mths now I have had it set to auto approve, and have yet to have a problem. Good advice!!!

i've seen people not approve my comments because they didn't fit in with their cheerleading squad.
not often, but it happens. it makes it look like "gee, everyone knows this..."

I meant the blogs(albeit, few and far between) that do not even give a posting opportunity and say "no comments will be accepted" or some such nonsense

YES People...THINK!
Because it may be something other than negligence....like a computer freezing, and by the time it's reconfigured and cleaned out, a few hours may have passed.
While it's unfortunate, it does happen sometimes.

song and others....
this blog was being directed at those who just blog for the heck of it,. maybe to see if it works, but then leave a live blog up without no consideration. Obviously this blog is not directed at those who have circumstances beyond there control right?....

Hansumm, Are you speaking for the person that originally posted this? Hmm, wonder why I received 2 emails from other people telling me there was a blog written about "people like me?"
LYNCH HER NOW!
Therefore, I'm pretty sure.

"You are not authorized to post a comment." I came across one of those last night. Very annoying.

First off............This was not directed @ any one person. This was written due to something that happened months ago. Before certain people get so defensive and paranoid, ASK if this was even directed at you....Don't assume......I'm sorry a certain person got upset. I post hundreds of comments a day. Why would any one person think this blog was about them?

song...never saw you before, never written you and don't know you....so doubt this blog was about you, unless those who wrote you know you better than someone like me, that does not know you from adam or eve.

I can't help that certain people got "stirred up" by an email stating that this blog was about that person. Whoever sent those emails does not speak for me or even know me for that matter. Sounds like some people just like to instigate. Me personally, I would block these people because they are obviously not your friends and thrive on arguing and causing chaos..........
For those who DO know me here........They will tell you that I am not like that. I'm the guy who is always breaking the fights up............
Again.........Sorry if you were upset..........

Oh well, I have defended myself and apologized more than enough for something I didn't even do.
Guess the old saying is true ~"You can't please everyone."

You can't have discussions if your words are never read by others..............right? That's why discussion questions are posted in the forums. Is that so hard for people to understand and do?
I happen to respect everyone's right to allow or NOT allow comments on their PERSONAL blogs. Their blogs are THEIR personal thoughts that they are sharing...keeping public comments on their blog is an option, a personal choice. Any comments made go right into the bloggers mailbox anyway, so THEY see the words. Comments are supposed to be directed toward the blog/blogger, right? NOT toward other commentors. (Although I've done this myself and slap my hand every time, lol)
Anyway, that's my take on blogs and blogging.
BTW, my blogs are set to approval. I read every single one before choosing to post it or not -- sometimes (rarely) I decline, but email the commentor nonetheless. And later, I delete all (or most) comments...because they're MY blogs, MY thoughts, on MY profile -- not yours, or yours, or yours.

Here I am...just stopping in to tell you that I totally agree with your blog. Comments to my blogs are automatically approved, also. It is so discouraging to read, comment, and then find out you cannot partake in the continuity of a .blog. Therefore, I have pretty much cut down on bothering with comments on "To be Approved" blogs...although I definitely agree that they have a right to do it.
Perhaps, all some people need is the ability to vent, or express themselves, who knows. I don't get offended if I am not authorized to post a comment. I have no driving force that make it feel necessary, I just go on to the next, where someone welcomes the thoughts of others. (I don't dictate or demand.)
And Cbond, that brings up another thought, You can look at it from the point of view that you DO ,in fact, make everybody happy...as I often point out....you write something for everybody...including the ones who get their joy in finding fault in others.
Smile, sweetie...I love what you have to say..... You've got a kudo coming!
