The rain fell in torrents again this morning. The plexiglas roof over the deck roared from the sound. The tin roof over the cabin resounded in harmony as darkness covered the mountain, at a time when life is normally beginning to emerge from morning's womb. I slept in.
Layers of mountains overlap towards the horizon and all is now quiet. I hear a few crickets and the occasional call of the rooster, hoping to be let out. The five chicks I have been raising are almost big enough to be let out with their mama to forage with the other four chickens I am looking forward to seeing that. In fact, with Prince Albert gone, I may let them out today. It is time now to go feed the goats.
