I suppose the wicked cat got a kick out of knowing that he had left a dead chipmunk beneath the porch swing on the front enclosed porch. I got wind of it today. That cat knew how much I enjoyed those chipmunks. He also knew he would be in big trouble if he dragged something dead onto the front porch. His new owners will find "gifts" soon enough. I only really missed the cat for a few hours once he left. Now I miss him in an entirely different way and I am in no way grieving. Only one day after he left I spotted five new species of birds near the house including a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers. The visits by hummingbirds doubled. Goodbye Prince Albert. steve

A cat leaves gifts as a way of repaying you for your kindnesses...he must have realy appreciated you to leave you all those treasures. My stray leaves me these nice things as well - BUT I thank him; and when he looks the other way; bin them...better that then his marking his turf!
