yesterday i wanted to do something thats been on my mind for awhile..when the war in Iraq started i volunteered to go but was told i was too old..been watching the war almost on a daily basis watching the firefights and the body bags..gritting my teeth why cant i help..So after a good 6 years of dissappointment i joined a group called The patriotguard. When someone gets killed in action we as a very large group of nam vets etc ride our bikes if called upon to a funeral free of charge to honor and pay respect to the trooper that has been killed in action i think by having a ride by it will make my sad heart a little better for i as one would replace the young laid to rest

God Bless You and All those in my generation who served in Nam...it was not the best of times and the soldiers then did not get the welcome home or recognition they deserved...thank you!

Hoooray!! and good for you!!..I can understand your feelings oh so well about wishing to do your part once again. But we have to realize that it is a young mans war.. When we were young we was able to do our part for our country, but now we have to pass on the flag, and morn the loss, but support the new generation of soliders who face the dangers of battle.
The problem I am facing today is that I am afraid that the war in Iraq is turning into another Vietnam.. That we are getting bogged down in a civil war with no way out.

Good for you! The Patriot Guard Riders are a tremendous orginization. Need to tell why they started tho.
The Westboro Baptist Church (lunatics) decided they were going to protest the war and our fallen men stating they were faggots for dying in Irag. The PGR was created to shield the families fromthese idiots in a passive manner. So we stand between the funeral and the idiots blocking their view with flags. However a few weeks ago we did have one and a group of 1% ers showed up. The idiots dispersed immediately. Ya just gottalove the biker brotherhood!
