Not sure if many of you know this so I thought I would share this bit of wisdom with you tonight.
Many years ago a young aspiring actor was in search of an agent and went the office of one of the best in the business. The agent went over his resume and after a long interview he told the young actor the following," You seem to have a lot of talent and I can see you going far in show business. The only problem is your name, you will need to change it."
The actor was a little put out by this and asked what was wrong with his name.
The agent told him that no one would want to put the name Penis Van Lesbian on their marquee and he would even have trouble finding anyone who would hire him if he didn't change his name.
"Penis Van Lesbian is the name I was born with and it is the name I will keep" and with that the young actor left the agent's office.
Many years later when the agent was preparing for retirement he received a note of congratulations from the young actor he had turned away all those years ago. The note read " I wish to congratulate you on such a long and fine career. I also wanted to tell you that you were right about my name, I finally changed it and my career took off." Could you imagine watching the Penis Van Lesbian show with your folks back in the 60's.
