Please hear me now as this is a subject that, for reasons that should be obvious to people who know me, is not pleasant and which I do not wish to discuss further than right here, right now:
To all appearances, Britney Spears is a person who made some bad choices, spiraled out of control in some ways, and needs a bit of a reality check. It is quite possible that she needs to be monitored around her children until she gets her head together.
BUT
I know from my experience that many persons in the legal system are bitter old women who resent good looking young women, especially if they have money, or bitter old men who have been reamed by their own ex-wives in latter decades of history. Bribing is easy and controversy is fun for everyone but the person the finger is being given to .. err.. pointed at.
So, I absolutely do not want to discuss what sort of mother she is or what she deserves to have happen to her. I do not know the woman personally and the only time I have seen her with her son in one hand and a glass that may have contained alcohol in the other and stumbling, I also saw her husband in the same vehicle, sitting on his ass, encouraging her to get out of the vehicle and handing her the glass and he was in a position where he could have made her look like she was stumbling.
Is he that kind of guy? I don't know anymore about that then whether or not she is that kind of girl.
But I do know that I was thoroughly screwed over in court, my family was dragged through the mud without proof, I was put on monitored visitation after a year or so of not even being able to see my children at all.
My ex-husband and his wife did so many horrible things to my children, things that are not .. I can't tell you because it would hurt my kids to have them aired in public, but nasty nasty bad horrible, if you knew you'd want to hunt them down and kill them things, and they did them to me and the kids, some of those things, before they were given custody!
I have custody of them, now, two of the three he was given custody too, because they were old enough to tell the court who they wanted to live with and what they had endured at their father's home. He still has one of them because he is learning disabled and so no one will listen to him.
So, I have no doubt that if her husband wanted to set her up to look like a bad mother, he could do it and the whole world would gawk in tittilation and wish her a great deal of ill because it's fun to watch the pretty girls sink into the gutter and fall apart.
It could be a case of partial truth, but I sincerely doubt it's all true, because the kids look healthy and fairly happy and that doesn't happen with a drunk and abusive mother. It just doesn't! Not unless she has someone else taking care of them; in which case, she isn't abusive - just absent.
She could be a scum, he could be a scum - they could both be lying; he could be setting her up because she's scum; he could be setting her up because he is scum; or maybe they are both just vastly misinformed and both absent parents or ... whatever. ..
I think their divorce is and should remain a private affair that is centered around making the best of a bad situation and doing what is best for the children. As all divorces should be, if they must take place, but seldom are.

aye, I know they were I just don't think it necessarily proves anything, either way. I do think that .. the only thing truly proven is that love and the paparrazi can make a person crazy!
Love and Paparrazi .. that should be the name of a movie, a very poignant one with a happy ending, please?

My take on it is this.
I feel sorry for the judge. He has to award custody of the children to one of those two. How do you think that made him feel? Neither should ever have children, and both have proven horrible parents and role models. The judge merely took what he felt was the lesser of the two evils.

fame and fortune has its drawbacks......what i dont understand about famous people is why they dont party in there mansions......why must they go out in public and make fools of themselves.......my thought here is....you do it behind closed doors.....and whatever happens..... happens......cookie

Probably kjac... and, yes, I agree. I mean, the Judge has to go with what he (presumably) is presented with and do his best. And whichever way you look at it, no matter how honest the Judge was, a good choice did not seem to be present.
But, my real point is .. I don't want to have any of these "Look at the proof: she must be guilty or the Judge wouldn't of ..." discussions with anyone as I know from personal experience that a person can be completely screwed over just because someone in their family owes the Guardian Ad Litem's husband money, or someone in their ex's family drinks with the Judge or etc.
So .. all it does for me is dredge up the past and make me remember all the unfair and nasty shite that happened which resulted in my children being abused for most of their life. So .. I just don't want to talk about it. That was my real point.

RTC that is a most excellent point and I have wondered the same myself. I mean, in a house as big as some of them got, you could have the kids and a nanny over in one area with their own private kitchen and a "party wing" where everyone could do whatever they wanted and have any and all weapons checked at the door by a responsible security staff.
What else is money for? lol

Yes, well, thank you for your opinion and your comment, but I think the point of this blog has been mostly missed:
Point 1: I don't know and I don't care to discuss it
Point 2: it is personally painful as subject matter which is a good lot of WHY I don't care to discuss it.
