I was recently analyzing, theorizing, or other zings that I usually do daily and I realized something strange about myself. I've been online now for the bulk of 10 years. Professionally, much of my life is spend on-off/line. Personally, in 8 years I've been on dating sites when single, which is more often than not (one relationship to speak of....sigh) and I realized something. I'm a forum junkie on a site that I have been on for over three years ~ but.......................
I have NEVER:
posted a blog;
been in a chat room;
had cyber-sex;
nor have I posted on youtube;
I have never purchased anything from Amazon.com;
and I haven't webcammed since 2001.
Does this mean I'm a cyber-junkie with a fetish for the mundane? Maybe I'm not a cyber-junkie, just a forum fiend? I will admit, I've been turned on to jigzone and am now a puzzle junkie ~ but I don't even play games online. How do I waste so much time here? What do I do with all this time? I've had a total of two real dates in the past three years ~ so it isn't that I'm here lining up dating options ~ is my obsession with research/knowledge/information my obsession? Things such as Post-nazi Art/Artists, emotional vampires, Twin Flames vs. Soulmates, why cats get fur balls and dogs don't. Is this my cyber-addiction? Information? Needless trivia about useless topics in hopes that one day I may actually need that information to fit into a conversation with a group of others or another human being in the real world? I just don't have an answer to this ~ very perplexing.

Using the internet a lot and being a junkie are two different things...
Can you go a whole day without checking messages..? If you can't go all day without checking mail, you may be a junkie...
The world is forcing the internet upon us with all the onlione things that companies are wanting us to do... Soon it will be mandatory and there will be no stopping it... Might as well be good at it ahead of time...

HA ~ yeaaaaaaa for me, I'm officially less strange than 20 minutes ago ~ I am now a blogger.  Do I check mail everyday? Yes, I have to for business, but I also have personal stuff going as well. I just roam around mostly. I went to Hawaii last year ~ it only took me about 30 minutes to find the business center at the resort so I could check mail ~ OH, and forums.  I know it's my lifeline ~ I just wonder what I do with ALL the time I spend here.

That's funny. When I went ot Hawaii last year, I checked my e-mails too. 
Of course I had a real estate deal happening at the time, but that wasn't the only thing I checked.

Oh gawd, she's gone over to the dark side, how do I save her from herself? Well, it's not really herself, I guess, it's this thing we type on and send around the world, junkie, addict, yeah, afraid you need to take the cure. We could send you to, uh, uh, uh, maybe an atol (as opposed to meeting one in person) in the Pacific as long as you don't take that laptop I have a feeling you probably possess...wow, don't know what to say giggles, I'm just very, very sorry for your situation....

Oh perhaps ~ you've caught me.  Bwwahahahaha. I think that this is just great. I can ramble at will and no one has to read or listen. I'll never know the difference. How great is that? Laptop? Heavens NO. But I know where every public library between Astoria Oregon and Manahawkin New Jersey is located. Hey, what can I say, I get wanderlust once in a while ~ gotta roam. Must mapquest every library with computer access for the general public. Tee hee.

^^^Thank you for the kind compliments. I have been lurking in the chat rooms, I do agree ~ vastly different than forums. See, before all this is said and done ~ I just might be a "traditional internet junkie" ~ well ~ except that whole cyber-sex thing ~ I think that is just silly. Besides, I can't do too many things at once so that leaves me rather handicapped on that note.
