Try to live simply,A simle lifestyle freely chosen is a source of strength. Do not br persuaded into buying what you do not need or cannot afford. Do you keep yourself informed about the effects your style of living is having on the global economy and environment?
As ever the society of friends provides good advice. However, when we consider what we need ,I think we should take into account our emotional and psychological needs:not about balance and finding ways to meet our needs that do not deprive others of what they need to live rather than merely survive.

I couldn't agree more. My son and I were just talking about Buddhism and the lack of materialization amongst those who truly practice vs. the Tao ~ which is more "love nature and all it bestows" and I think what you've said is basically a combination of those to theories/religions (depending on how you view the ideology.) Thank you for the reminder to live less frivolously and give more than we take. Nice blog.

As with alll of your blogs there is wisdom and truth in this one.

It really is better to light one candle than to curse the darkness........so keep shining that light upon us all.

Iin these most difficult times we need all the brightness anyone can bring into our lives.
