All images are copyright 1999-2003 by Ron Carnell and netpoets.com. Poems are copyright by the respective authors. we don't condone making a public issue by targeting people. this should have been handled directly with the mods before it got out of hand. the plagiarized work would have been deleted immediately. (even if it's on a greeting card site, the work is still covered by copyright. credit needs to be given to the original author or at least the site.)
btw, deeper research turned up the 1999 copyright. 'catherine' may have plagiarized also, unless she paid royalties to the author or posted it with her permission. that's between 'catherine' and 'dove'. the poem was not created using a 'program'. it was copied and a few words substituted.
this whole situation is ironic, to say the least. and troubling. it's also one of the reasons we've cracked down on making people use the quotebox for any material that is not their original work. but it's also the responsibility of the blogger to attribute the original author. if we can find them with a few clicks, so can they. (we're not covering anyones butt anymore by adding the quotes or authors -- we'll just hit the delete button if we find instances of overt plagiarism)
i'm going to edit the title of this blog, but leave the content pretty much alone as an example of how things can go wrong when sources aren't cited, just as i did on a recent blog of a similar nature.
DO NOT COPY OTHER PEOPLES STUFF AND PASS IT OFF AS YOUR OWN! it's as simple as that.
