See here:

(Proverbs 31:10-31) ? [´A´leph] 10 A capable wife who can find? Her value is far more than that of corals. ?
[Behth] 11 In her the heart of her owner has put trust, and there is no gain lacking. ?
[Gi´mel] 12 She has rewarded him with good, and not bad, all the days of her life. ? [
Da´leth] 13 She has sought wool and linen, and she works at whatever is the delight of her hands. ?
[He´] 14 She has proved to be like the ships of a merchant. From far away she brings in her food. ? [Waw] 15 She also gets up while it is still night, and gives food to her household and the prescribed portion to her young women. ?
[Za´yin] 16 She has considered a field and proceeded to obtain it; from the fruitage of her hands she has planted a vineyard. ?
[Chehth] 17 She has girded her hips with strength, and she invigorates her arms. ?
[Tehth] 18 She has sensed that her trading is good; her lamp does not go out at night. ?
[Yohdh] 19 Her hands she has thrust out to the distaff, and her own hands take hold of the spindle. ?
[Kaph] 20 Her palm she has stretched out to the afflicted one, and her hands she has thrust out to the poor one. ?
[La´medh] 21 She does not fear for her household because of the snow, for all her household are clothed with double garments. ?
[Mem] 22 Coverlets she has made for herself. Her clothing is of linen and wool dyed reddish purple. ?
[Nun] 23 Her owner is someone known in the gates, when he sits down with the older men of the land. ?
[Sa´mekh] 24 She has made even undergarments and proceeded to sell [them], and belts she has given to the tradesmen. ?
[`A´yin] 25 Strength and splendor are her clothing, and she laughs at a future day. ?
[Pe´] 26 Her mouth she has opened in wisdom, and the law of loving-kindness is upon her tongue. ?
[Tsa·dheh´] 27 She is watching over the goings-on of her household, and the bread of laziness she does not eat. ?
[Qohph] 28 Her sons have risen up and proceeded to pronounce her happy; her owner [rises up], and he praises her. ?
[Rehsh] 29 There are many daughters that have shown capableness, but you—you have ascended above them all. ?
[Shin] 30 Charm may be false, and prettiness may be vain; [but] the woman that fears Jehovah is the one that procures praise for herself. ?
[Taw] 31 GIVE her of the fruitage of her hands, and let her works praise her even in the gates.

I have known people that read this, above, and what they got out of it was that God hates women, he says they are worthless except as slaves and chattel.

Yet I just read it and what I see is a woman (for these were the words of a mother to her son) expressing the importance of looking for a woman who will not be merely a slave or chattel; that he should find one who considers herself so much an equal in the marriage that she would not hesitate to work good for the family, all the way up to buying land or using the works of her hands to bring in extra goods. The sort of woman described is not a woman who is afraid to go off on her own to look for a bargain or who has to ask her husband's permission for every step she wishes to take. She is a woman who respects her husband and family and is respected by her husband and family and they dwell in mutual trust, knowing that both will work toward the good of the family.

Yes, the word "owner" is in there, but it doesn't signify anything but responsibility for the man and since the woman was talking to her son, what she was showing him is that if he is to take responsibility for a woman, make it a woman who will not add to his burden.

Good advice from a good mother .. that God preserved in the Holy Scriptures. Which is ample proof that he does not hate women or consider them the downfall of men or Man.
