This is the easiest and tastiest bread you can make, use different cheeses and herbs for different tastes. I have used garlic, rosemary, ginger, bacon, etc.
About 4oz cheese 4 spring onions or 1 small onion 1 medium red potato weighing 6 oz 1 tsp chopped thyme 6 oz self raising flour 1 tsp salt generous pinch of cayanne pepper (I use about a tsp, I like it hot) 1 large egg 2 tbsp milk 1 tsp wholegrain mustard.
Method.
I ignore the recipe and just put all the ingredients apart from the chesse in a bowl and mix with a knife until its a sticky lump. Tip out onto a greased flat baking tray. Cut chesse into lumps and insert into top of laof pushing in slightly. sprinkle more thyme, but rosemary is my favourite. bake for 45-50 minutes at 375f/190c/gas 5 or until golden brown. Ideal to be eaten with the pumpkin soup from yesterday.
