So it finally sorta really snowed here (Anchorage) yesterday.

We had a few itty bitty snows but this one is likely to be the beginning of the real winter snow.

Pooh!

Okay I like snow, really, to look at and play in and stuff.
But I am avoiding the first trek out to join the folks who forget how to drive in snow each year.
Even though they live in flippin' Alaska and you figure they'd be good at it.

Anyway I have been hiding in the house since yesterday morning but I have to go out at some point. **sigh***

Well, at least it is pretty.

We who are about to slide salute you.

Ooops! Sorry about the comment approval thing. Forgot to fix it!

Angel, I have only been up here a couple of years so I am not necessarily the one you want to ask. And I hate to tell you this but that show was filmed in Canada! As are a lot of shows about AK.

It is pretty here and of course when you leave Anchorage and go to smaller places you get more of the feel that folks show on TV and movies. But I have only seen one place that reminded me of Northen Exposure. Lord was it small!
No way I want to hang out there in the winter.
I am a wimp!

Jim, I have lived in Florida and California and I have to say that sometimes I wish I still lived in one of those places now!!

2T, party?? Yeah, me and the cats, we're a wild bunch!!

Snow looks beautiful and I love it on Christmas Day or New Years Day, but thats because I always stay in on those 2 days and don't have to drive anywhere. My daughters adore riding the toboggans in the snow. Last year NY really only had one snow storm and I was glad, although I'm a good driver I don't like the way other people behave on the roads, they act as if its a normal day and do not slow down.
Anyway, hope you have a safe drive

Snow update!

Yes snow is lovely and I definitely like looking at it.
But on the down side you have to move it to get around.

I went out about 2 something to shove at the snow in the driveway.
Had to go then because it starts to get dark around 4 ish so I couldn't put it off any longer.

Fortunately, there wasn't too much of it.
But I have to say it looses some of its beauty after you had to shovel it!
