LOL, that last comment got me thinking about how Santa says ho-ho-ho in other parts of the world. A quick online search didn't turn up anything (yet), but ho-ho was around a whole lot longer than the slang word :
Ho, Ho, WatanaySleep, Sleep, My Little OneLullaby
(Iroquois)
Ho, ho, Watanay Ho, ho, Watanay Ho, ho, Watanay Ki-yo-ki-na Ki-yo-ki-na We used to have a cuckoo clock that actually said "po-po" instead of coo-coo. It was from Japan in the early 50's and actually had the words carved in the ivory/plastic face.
Maybe ho-ho-ho sounds different with different accents or maybe Santa just grunts or whistles or says hoo-hoo-hoo in other, non-English speaking, countries.
Augh, senseless trivia drives me crazy.
