It was 1:30 in the afternoon on this beautiful sunny California fall day. I was sitting at the computer reading and replying to the blogs on MD when I heard a knock on the front door. "Now who is it", I think to myself, not wanting to talk to anyone. I had already missed the 'bug man' because my daughter had the volume on her stereo turned up so loud that I didn't hear the knock. Hence, he didn't spray the backyard because he couldn't get through the gate. Though I was a bit perturbed about that, I didn't feel like calling them back because this was my lazy, being a total slob day and I definitely looked the part.

So I get up from my comfortable desk chair and look out of the leaded glass window on the door. I see a FedEx truck parked in front of my house. Hmmmm....I haven't started my online Christmas shopping and I don't remember ordering anything that needed to be shipped. Oh well, I opened the door dressed in my old jeans, over-sized sweatshirt, mismatched socks and unkempt hair. Mr. FedEx man smiles at me, hands over a long rectangular box, and says "Have a good day" as he strides off to his truck.

I close the door on the fresh air and take the sea green package into the kitchen. It is there that I realize it says FTD on the side of the box. I check the name on the packing slip again. Yep...it's addressed to me. OMG...did I get flowers?! My daughter helps me to quickly tear apart the box and yes indeed...there inside lies a beautiful long stemmed bouquet of orange-tipped yellow roses, fall-colored Gerbera daisies, and red hypericum berries. They are absolutely beautiful!! But...there is no card? I can't imagine who they're from. ~grin~ Certainly this delicate, colorful and precious gift must be from my "High Endurance" man.

I think I will brush my hair now, put on my shoes and take a walk on this beautiful sunny California fall day. Perhaps my smile will brighten someone else's day. I know for sure that I will have a bit more bounce in my step.

~sigh~ I love that man of mine.
