My son reminded me today of the time I went into Long John Silver's with just $5 foolishly expecting to buy my lunch. Looking over the menu there was no meal available for that amount. It has not been long ago I could buy such a meal. When the cashier asked me what I wanted I stated my situation and explained that most places do provide some meal for under $5 and that I was disappointed. The cashier explained that she was not the company president (yet) but in her lowly status she could still provide me with a coupon which she "is really not supposed to hand out, but in this case..." So I thankfully accepted the coupon which allowed me to pay for a modest meal and even get a few cents change. I handed her the coupon. My relief was turned to frustration as I heard her say, " I am sorry sir, but this coupon is expired" Thankfully the manager ambled by and instructed her to accept the coupon anyway.
It is incredulous to me that the earth does not fall from its axis laughing at the inhabitants, herein... but then again, perhaps that is the reason it is tilted

So true, Good blog . Love those dollar menus at Mc.Donalds and wendys. And so do the elderly who cannot afford the prices elsewhere.

Why does this ol' fool have the idea that she knew the coupon was expired?...and also knew that the manager would come along and okay it when she spoke what she did?...thus "saving her own arze" (and job) by not just taking it upon herself to give it to you?...I think she just might become a "manager" one day!...lol...

i cant eat fast food anymore......been eating it for years......even the smell of the carnival food sickens me......guess its all part of growing up ...and older......cookie
