This morning, I heard an MSNBC newscaster say Flea, bassist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers has lost his home in the Malibu wildfire.
I haven't been watching the news lately and I didn't know if the fires had been contained or not... apparently not.
I came online and checked a news story from The New York Post and they are reporting an out-of-control fire that has destroyed 49 homes and damaged another 27. They went on to say 1,700 firefighters and 30 aircraft battled the fire and contained about 25%... cause of the fire had not been determined.
This is a tragedy. Now the fires have struck the ritzy area of Malibu, a very compressed neighborhood of upscale homes owned by famous musicians and actors. I would hope all those affected are covered by insurance. This is something that will take years of rebuilding to put in the past.
