blogs are free®

Well, today they are... but what would happen if MD changed their policy and decided to charge members who post blogs?

Let's say all new blogs posted on or after January 1st, 2008 had a cost.... maybe a dollar.
That's it... ONE DOLLAR for every blog.

The BUCK-A-BLOG® policy would then be in effect !

What a concept... Would it eliminate blog wars? I doubt it, they would move to the forums, where it happens all the time.
Would it lower the daily "I WAS CONTACTED BY AN AFRICAN SCAMMER" blogs? It better!

Maybe more revenue inducing, would be a charge for blog comments.
Well that would suck... "I just paid to post a great blog and nobody wants to comment !"

How significant would those comments be if each one cost you 25¢

Frequent bloggers (and those who comment) could pre-pay blocks of $5, $10, $20 deducted from an ATM or PayPal account.

The high cost of blogging... just a thought.

Chat.......when did you start working for MD? Are you just trying to give them ideas? Next you will suggest a penny for each emoticons that we use as well.

I'm sure that if there was a charge blogging and commenting there would be fewer blogs and comment for sure. People would definitely think twice before posting.

Oh....BTW....I owe you 30 cents for the comment, the check is in the mail.

Great, now it's 31 cents.

Ohhhhh ...........I need to get out of here............

Actually... the Penny an Emoticon® is a terrific idea too.

LOL .... that has about as much chance of success as the old myth that the US Postal service was going to start chargeing for eMail. The popularity of the web is it's relative low cost. Like anything else, put a price tag on it and it will wither and die.......

I would simply move to my own site where I could blog free. But then MD nows better than to try that. I already pay way to much just so I can post photos.
