I was just sharing with someone my travel game and thought I'd share it with blogland. If you have a travel game, I'd like to hear about it too. Saying that, I know there are people who don't like to travel at all. Once when I was in Provo, Utah I asked a guy at the gas station which of two roads was more interesting to drive... he said he couldn't compair them because he'd never been more than NINE MILES FROM HOME... No question.. we wouldn't have been a good match. *G*

Here's the game I play when it's a "down the road a ways" day. I put a CA map on a piece of cardboard with a spinner centered in my town. When I want a getaway day I spin the spinner. That's the direction I'm going to head. Then I take a pair of dice and roll them. Whatever the combined number is, I multiply that by 10 and drive that many miles in the direction the arrow is pointing. From there, I spend the day exploring that area. It's fun and harmless... and it's taken me to some interesting places... all within 120 miles of home.

I've used the same for an excuse to pack up the camera's and take them out for a "visit" .... but if you play this one on the beach and hit dead "W" I'm hoping you have a few exceptions to your rules.........or auto tires that will inflate really big!

One of the Greek philosophers said something
similar. It is not the road but the experience.
Some people been in an area and never had
the curiosity to explore beyond it.

ahhhhhhh...life in the slow lane. That sounds great. It reminds me of that bumper sticker.

Don't Follow Me. I'm Lost Too.

And it reminds me of a million 'driving songs'...Like Mr. T Petty:

Life is a highway
I want to ride it all night long
If you're going my way
I want to drive it all night long

Life is good when you are free, isn't it?
