It's your fault there's a war.
It's your fault we have had two terms of an ineffective, oil-company backed, corporation backed President and Vice President who have lied to us about our reasons for going to war.
It's your fault we have Congresspeople who can't get anything done.
And it'll always be your fault that nothing will change in this country, yet you will be the people that complain the loudest.
It is sad that you spout off about how we have the most freedom yet you are too lazy and jaded to use it when so many other countries do not have the freedom you supposedly cherish so much. Go out and vote, or shut your mouths about what you think is wrong with this country.
P.S.- I don't want to hear from those that disagree with my opinions about the war and Bush/Cheney. That's not what this is about.

AMEN! The apathy of our great country will be our downfall. We have so many things to be thankful for and we still seem to bitch about (rather) insignificant things....

40% ???? So many elections around here have like 40% turn out! huh??
I ask people if they vote...I can't remember the last time one said yes.
If you take the time to write to a congressperson or president or any elected official they look at one letter as being 10,000 votes! Write a letter, IT WORKS! It will scare the heck out of them, they will think someone is watching, and WE ARE!!
VOTE OUT THESE IDIOTS!! Go register, it takes 5 minutes at the post office. I think that is where, registered 34 years ago so don't remember where but it is easy, PLEASE, PLEASE VOTE!! I don't care what you vote for, just vote, THIS IS AMERICA! VOTE
thank, lip!!

ok So I am stealing my own comments from another blog.......
So my question as always is the same....What are YOU going to do about it? You can't tell me that there is nothing that YOU can do, because tomorrow the sun comes up and it is a new day, and that just keeps happening over and over. As long as all you do is look at what has past, things stay just as they are. It is when you look forward that you start to see ways to change things. As for me.....I am looking at these documants from the past that the founding fathers thought so much of that they fought for them and men gave their lives for them. I am going to call my Congressman, and Senator, tell them I for one want to go back to a Constitutional Republic and will vote accordingly. Then I am going to set out to tell everyone I can that is my position. Write a blog, post a comment, send it everyone on my address book. Because that is what [B]I can do, not what I can't do, and it is what I get to do not what I got to do.

Freedom of Speech shouldn't cover people who don't vote ?
I Vote, but I'm beginning to think they're "all" a bunch of RatBastards that really work for Exxon Mobile, Pfizer, and Kaiser Permanente...
in 2004, way to many people Voted, about 62,040,610 to many, (the number of votes dubbya got)

What will scare most of you if you do take the time to write to them they will 9 times out of 10 write you back. They do care what you think and are normaly open to read/listen to what you have to say.

This is America, a person has the right to NOT vote if they so choose. If you don't like any of the canidates you should vote for one regardless

You're right, LGQ. During the Revolution, Thomas Paine said that it's dearness alone that gives things value. He was writing about Liberty: if you want it you'll do what it takes to get it, and if you won't do it you won't have it. So this problem has been around for a long time. You're not going to change minds that don't exist. Just save yourself, and devil take the hindmost. If they want to abstain from voting, let them hold their breath and turn blue. That would work just fine.

If they hold the elections during the American Idol, forget about it lol ... this country cares more about the next singing act than who's going to run the country...
