So its Friday night here in japan. I'm at a friends drinking having a good time playing beer pong. The usual weekend events for single soldiers here at a married friends house.Nothing out of the ordinary until a friends the house owners shows up with their two children. I sat there and it just got to me. It made me so sad to see that a mother and father were so desperate to come out and have fun that they would bring a 2 year old girl and a 4 year old boy to some were with people doing heavy drinking. I made me turn from dale the tank to dale the big brother and just was the biggest buzz kill. It got to the point were i decided to risk driving with a few beers in me and left. All i could think about was how lonely i really was and how seeing those kids just made me want to be with some one and want my own children to be with them and not put them in that situation. I was going to go get a 12 pack and go to another friends house and was listening to some music and just started crying. I got back to my room and just couldn't stop and here i am now writing my first blog about the first tears i have cried as a soldier in 2 years. thinking what am i going to do now that I'm loosing control of hiding my emotions.

It's good to shed a tear. It shows that you have emotions, compassion, sincereity, and are a true human person who has a heart.

Well, young man, this is quite a meloncholy story and it takes me back to when 2 of my 4 sons served in the military. I thought these boys were tough soliders, but the phone calls cam in, the letters came home, not only laced with emotion but filled with home sickness would take me to tears. There was nothing I could do, which of course is the worst thing to feel as a parent, helplessness. They are home now and you will be also. I am not sure if you will be a better man than you are now because it sure seems as though you have a maturity far beyond your years and the showing of emotion is the essence of that maturity. There will be a special young lady out there that will know that when she looks in your eyes. Isn't that exciting to be young and know that if you are patient, steadfast and lead your life with dignity and compassion that special love is just waiting for you. God Bless You and All Of Our Troops!!!!
