In Memoriam
It is a matter of history that when Supreme Commander of the Allied
Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps
he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even
made to bury the dead. He did this because he said in words to this
effect: 'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses because somewhere down the track of history some bastard will get up and
say that this never happened. '"All that is necessary for the triumph

week, the UK removed The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offended' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. This is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it. It is now more than 6 0 years after
the Second World War in Europe ended. This is being posted as a memorial, in memory of the:6 million Jews,> 20 million Russians,> 10 million Christians and
1,900 Catholic priests who were murdered, massacred, raped, burned,
starved and humiliated while the German and Russian peoples looking the other way! Now, more than ever, with Iran , among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth', it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

thank u for the recognintion
my grandparents were able to run from the camps and landed in england
then my parents went to argentina and i was born in 1943 when the war just came to an end
it is a very good in memoriam for the jews of the world

That will happen here with the words God and Christmas. It offends Muslims so it will be removed. All that we know now will be a myth.

Freedom to know becomes repression of facts.
Is there anyone left who can honestly say our governing bodies know the least bit about reason and judgment?

It is amazing that the british, of all people, would bow down to such pressures, but times are a changeing and people no longer hold onto the same values of generations past. If the value of history were recognized and pushed much harder it might prevent some of our leaders from making the same stupid mistakes again and again. If memory serves, I believe that in Germany and Israel are the only significant holocost museums. I can only hope that they will continue to spread the word and caution future generations about making the same mistakes!

ib4u - thx - great blog! We don't have to look too far to find people that are ignorant of what the Nazi's did.
There are many here that think the Holocaust is a joke and that Hitler is an adverb or adjective that can be used to describe anything they want.

If memory serves, I believe that in Germany and Israel are the only significant holocost museums.
THe USA Holocaust Museum in DC was opened in 1992 - it is a masterpiece - and of course very disturbing.
Certainly worth the trip.
