GIRLS, did you know that by TMZ's standards, 90% of you are "Fat"?

THIS is the problem with society, people, that every day, women are encouraged by the media to feel badly about their bodies.

Recently, TMZ.com took a photo of Jennifer Love Hewitt in a bikini and pointed out her curvy waist and hips and declared "We know what you ate last summer Love--everything!" If you view the comments, there was a mixed reaction, but surprisingly, people responded in agreement with TMZ. Not only is that SICKENING, but it makes me fear for America. "Fat is not healthy", they say. Actually, doctors and scientists studying the condition of being overweight have come to the conclusion that simply being overweight can protect you from certain diseases. So yeah, fat IS healthy, to a certain degree.

Love was probably the same size as me or a bit smaller, if only because she has a flatter stomach and a smaller butt. I truthfully do not consider myself to be that big anymore....and neither should many of you, but the media wants you to, and so many of you buy into it that it is sad.

Girls, you need to stop watching TMZ On TV and you need to stop visiting the website. What they did is not fair to us as a half of the human element, and it's not fair to the men who really love all women but are confused about what they should like or should love.

As a Hare Krishna, part of my philosophy of life is that we are NOT our bodies. We are born with the tiny body of an infant, we grow into the body of a child, then into the body of a teenager, and finally into the bodies of adult and elder adult...but our inner soul is always the same. Who we are is always the same. Yes, there are those that will seek to make us feel that we are our bodies, but in truth, we are not. Our bodies are only a chamber that hold our souls until we pass on.

Just remember that next time you feel down about yourself...the next time you think "I'm not a size 0, I don't have hip bones that protrude from my body like a starving African woman or ribs that stick out like I haven't eaten in 6 months"...remember that you are not your body, in fact you are so much more.

At some point people stop caring what others think! TMZ, etc....SC&@W em....the only person that matters where my weight is concerned is the one doing the clothes shopping! (and grocery for that matter)

There is no way she can be considered fat!!
What is wrong with these people??
And even scarier the folks who jump on the bandwagon to put her down.

Personally, I couldn't care less if TMZ calls JLH fat or not.

OP, I find it curious that you call the women on this forum GIRLS, yet are offended on behalf of all women by what is posted by a trash-rag about a celebrity.

You know, at first, I kinda...in the back of my mind...thought that the reason I felt so down about my body and needed to find a religion was because of some of the blogs on MD. I considered leaving. I even wrote a bulletin post called "Auf Wiedersehen", but after thinking about it...didn't post it.

I didn't post it because I realised MD isn't the problem.

The problem is society.

For some reason, society WANTS to do this to women, and women lie back and let it happen to them, and the whole thing makes me SICK.

Not sure why it takes the fat comment to decide that TMZ wasn’t worth watching.
Seems to be their M.O across the board, to degrade people.
Excluding the fat comment, they are media star obsessed and focused on the mundane.
It is just a gossip rag made for tv.

LGQ...we, as women and individual human beings, have the power to accept or reject any images, ideas, values, or philosophies that we see in the society around us. IMO, people need to take ownership of their self-esteem issues and not allow themselves to be so heavily influenced by society and the media.

By the way, LGQ, you are obviously an intelligent and attractive woman. I hope you know that. I suspect there are many people on this forum that are glad that you decided to stick around.

Ummm... YOU are part of society... no? Each letter you type on the internet is compiled in a database. That data YOU provide along with a multitude of millions world wide form the bases of what the media will direct its resources towards to make it YOUR compelling desire to... buy! Simple as that.

Your posting of your past or present weight problems are part of what fuels TMZ programming.

Doubtful you'll agree.... but your post just sent them comfirmation... data does not lie.

LGQ - I dont think that they took the pic - and I dont think that they broke the story - it was everywhere from what I read -

And yet in some cultures, having a little weight on your bones means you are of the upper class.
Then again, a woman with more curves was said to be able to bear children too.

I think this started back in the 60's with twiggy.

I love my curves!!!!

katts - it is just like a suntan - where did that become the look of the rich and famous?
Or SUV's or Sports Cars - I wear wranglers - not CAlvin Kleins here! - LOL - drive a GMC pick up -

people are crazy with that stuff!

unfortunately with weight it kills people!

Sorry. Can't boycott TMZ. I've never been there.

In other news, when did you become Hare Krishna? I gotta read your blogs more often.

From a guy's perspective... if I have a sincere fear of breaking you like a fragile china doll, we're not going to go out. A lady has to have some femanine curves.

I'm actualy glad to hear you're Hare Krishna. I'm not the only member of an "out of the way" religion here anymore!
