I have written to about 12 ladies this month, hoping to communicate enough to determine whether we might have enough in common to meet . So about 5 of them have responded with one sentence replies and only two of them have responded in multiple paragraphs. I find it ironic that one woman states she is disillusioned with the dating possibilities because nobody seems "serious". She has written the shortest replies but has encouraged me to please continue writing.

A few years back I had a lady send me a lengthy letter stating that she was rather offended that I would write to her because it was so obvious that she was not my type. She continued to say that I should probably look at Shoneys for one of the waitresses there and not bother writing to someone of her caliber. I wrote a polite response to her that went something like this:

"I apologize if I offended you in any way. Had you sent me this letter before I wrote to you I would not have wasted your valuable time. I agree with you entirely that we are not a match and it was probably foolish of me to have assumed otherwise. Thank you for your brilliant suggestion. I will pay special attention the next time I go to Shoneys to the waitresses there and I will ask any one who is attractive to me to read a copy of this letter as your endorsement of my qualifications to date them. Since you wrote such a wonderful letter to me giving me such good advice I will leave you with some as well, however unsolicited it might be.

"If times ever get bad for you (Heaven Forbid!) please do not ever apply for a job at Shoneys. Those ladies work hard for a living. By nature of their profession they strive daily to be polite with people. It is the only way they earn tips. They generally are very pleasant with those they meet and they are seldom judgmental (all qualities you seem to lack!)
In closing, I hope you find what you are looking for in a mate. I'm sure you will well deserve what you get (although I am not sure he will)"

(I did check out the next Shoneys I came to but all the waitresses were married )
