A friend alerted me of the sad news.. well, perphaps not for all but for me and thousands of others who loved the sweet dulcitone voice of Dan Fogelberg. The legacy of the "Leader of the Band" died in his home today at the age of 56.
The clip with all the information follows:
Dan Fogelberg
I just watched one of the two movies that Brad Pitt starred in that I think he did a very good job of being the character they cast him as. The film was Joe Black with Anthony Hopkins. Now, it may be that I love the film because of Hopkins, as that man, can play any type of character and you believe he IS that person. (The other movie was with Morgan Freeman .. another of my favs.. the Seven Deadly Sins) .. This one made me cry, though I have seen it five separate times. The fact that the writer portrayed Death as this human character who took the body of a man hit by a car, was creative and imaginative. He took something cold as Death and gave him the chance to see what humans feel. In the end Death was moved to a different level of understanding because of all the feelings he had while human.
I will miss Dan .. and his music did, indeed, touch the life of this ole gal.. in more ways than he will ever know...
Those of you lucky enough to have someone (partner/significant other to love) shower them with attention, time, love, honesty and respect. You are one of the lucky ones. If you have family that you are close with, the same applies. That, that, dear folks is what I so sorely miss by not having a long-term relationship.. the bonding, the sharing, the touching (and no, I am not talking sex, though.. errr.. K.. I will get my mind back to where it belongs).. tell those people each and every day of your life how important they are and how much you love them.. I know WHEN I am lucky enough to find that last great partner, I will embrace all those emotions fully and responsibly.. because I know the longing for that which I am missing.
Peace out.. and thanks for dropping by...

I really liked Dan Fogelberg! And I am sorry to hear he has passed!
As a person gets older the people you grew up with and have heard about throughout you life begin to leave! And believe me it is always a sad passing....for me!
Thank you for posting this as I had not heard it as yet!

I had not heard of Dan Fogelberg's death. My heavens, he was younger than I...
Such a short life but what a legacy.
Thank you, Luvs, for the reminders...

His death cuts me pretty deeply, as he was my favorite singer of all time. His was the concert I ever attended at age 16. It was his 1982 solo acoustic tour--just Dan, a piano, and a guitar. R.I.P Dan. You will be sorely missed.
