From the corner of my eye
I saw the flash beyond the sky.
Eons before my time
the star exploded
in the dark of space.
There in some distant galaxy
there came a flash of light so bright
that even now,
a million, trillion miles or more away
I have seen the light
and felt it in my heart go...
"flash".
Then in the darkest hour of night
I once again can see the light
in dreamlike state of fast asleep
discover this
a mystery so true
The light of some distant star
where shattered broken pieces flew
and fell to Earth,
just two
becoming lives of me and you
I shall not ask that you believe
star struck lovers are any more
than chance or circumstance
but I shall place hope in this
that soulmates can exist

It is on a flight of whimsy that I have written this poem...
not of seriousness but of playful hope.
