Every day, there are a number of blogs and comments to blogs, in which the authors complain about the intolerance of other bloggers and commentors. Of course, there are also the actual missiles of intolerance in blogs and comments.
It makes me wonder why seemingly so many people like to “bash” others for any number of reasons (politics, religion, sex, appearance…., to name only a few).
But it also makes me wonder why the “bashed” respond to that, be it with return-bashing or whining.
Is it fun to bash?
Is it fun to whine?
Is it fun to complain?
Maybe it is….
Here my little truth that I heard from the mouth of a person who was living in a country that was ravaged by a civil war. He said: “We have all been living together for many years. Now we kill each other. But it doesn’t make any sense. Because…. once the killing is over, we will (have to) live together again.”
Of course, no one “has to” be on MD, or “has to” read blogs and comments, or “has to” write any of these. But if one wants to be here, one should consider that being here is shared with a big bunch of other people, whether we like them or not.
And tomorrow, they’ll still be here, too.
So why fuss?

MD is the only place where people "talk" to me they way they do. I've never been called a racist anywhere else but here. And I keep bringing that up because nothing could be further from the truth. But I can't convince people who think that way that they are wrong. I won't lie either, it bothers me a lot. I make no apology about that 'cause most of the ladies I've dated like that I'm sensative like that.
It more the case than not that , once a person gets a certain impression of you here, its hard to convince them of anything else. And its really kind of absurd when you think of it. You can't really know a person from a blog, or comment, or thread. You can get an idea. But there are so many things you can't see. You can't see a persons eyes, for instance. In real life you look into a persons eyes when you speak to them. You also can see what expression they have, what body language, etc. We miss out on all those subtle things that are the true measure of a person on the internet. The problem is too many people seem to think the virtual world is a adequate substitute for the genuine article.
Anyway, I think that if more people would drop the big tough, unfeeling, water off my back, I don't care, charade---and admit that when someone bashes them or calls them a whiner it bothers them, things might start to change for the better around here. JMO.

well.... it happens. People start "knowing" you and add whatever feeling you transmit by comments or blogs to that "knowledge". And if they are smart enough, they will little by little get a better picture of you.
It has happened to me.... when certain people tried to make me look like a certain kind of person (which I am not and wouldn't want to be), but other people saw right through it all and I have made nice friends here. THEY know better who I am....
So don't worry.... Just be yourself....

Yes, it is.... Don't we all feel like that once in a while. But I'm also quite sure that you don't spend all you blogs and comments whining. And THAT makes all the difference.... doesn't it?
