Once again, I shall go out on the limb here and make a bold and startling suggestion:
If you want to know why, how, where, what, or when people started believing things, started acting the way they do, etc. then the best way to do this is to .. now please don't be shocked: ASK
Asking can also come in the form of reading information about them, preferably from them, though.
Asking can also be, in case of their being things that you are still confused about between them and other people who say they act differently than the people you are asking say they act, can be observing.
I love a good bit of fact finding. So, I'm not going to tell everyone who asks all the answers, nor am I going to seek out and berate everyone who gets it wrong, posts an insult or outright lie, or etc.
I'm going to give you a link, which in turn leads to many other links.
Then those of you who honestly want to do what Jehovah's Witnesses do and why, or who want to know why they do not celebrate Christmas and why, etc. can go and read from the words of Jehovah's Witnesses what amounts to their answers to those reasons. But please do keep in mind that these are not answers written to you, but a sharing within a peoples, so you might not understand every word or attitude unless you are one of those peoples. But you'll understand enough, if you want to understand!
And please note that this is a very public posting of theirs. So, again, it is very far from the secretive teachings of cults. Thank you

Who cares what the Witnesses do and why? As long as they aren't making public policy for all...............

Thank you for the link. I went there to find the answers to my 2 questions I had on your Jehovah Witness blog. #1 Do Jehovah Witnesses believe that our salvation is through Jesus Christ the Lord in the shedding of his blood? Pretty straight forward question. I did not find the answer on the web site, but I would think that any practicing Jehovah Witness would know the answer. #2 Why are all of the Kingdom Halls, at least the ones that I have every seen, windowless? Obviously, I wasn't going to find that anywhere in the doctrine and again, have found this interesting even as a child. Since you did not approve my comment on that blog, I hope you do on this blog, If not, I will just create a blog. I know, as a Baptist, that if people can not come to me to ask that a bear witness or answer questions, am I a "practicing Baptist"? oh, p.s, I was told years ago from a practicing Jehovah Witness that only 142,000 will be allowed into heaven. On the above mentioned website their are 6,000,000 through-out the world. Some of them are going to be reeeaalllly disappointed.

Very good HH.
Thank you lovely Miss Choos
oh and how is this recipe?:
Joy of Baking Welsh Cakes recipe
Wow! Now I know, more or less, what Welsh Cakes are .. and they do sound good. They also sound like the closest explanation for American biscuits that I've yet to see that a European who never ate them already might understand!
Just that biscuits have a lot less spice, really. But they don't have to.
Anyway, it's not just the same, but it'll do. So from now on, when asked, I shall say "They are a good bit like unspicy Welsh Cakes."
That should clear it up for them, eh?

A Welsh Cake is soft but dense, nothing like a biscuit. It is a cake, very similar to a scone, but not as light in texture.

I didn't mean they were just like them .. but the explanation I read is much closer than a scone or cookie ever could be, is all.

#1 Do Jehovah Witnesses believe that our salvation is through Jesus Christ the Lord in the shedding of his blood? Pretty straight forward question. I did not find the answer on the web site, but I would think that any practicing Jehovah Witness would know the answer. I'm pretty sure that the answer is on the website .. it's a big website .. though it may not be in the first article. But, since the first article, the one I linked to that is, is about Jesus the Christ I think it would almost certainly answer your question!
#2 Why are all of the Kingdom Halls, at least the ones that I have every seen, windowless? Obviously, I wasn't going to find that anywhere in the doctrine and again, have found this interesting even as a child. All Kingdom Halls are not windowless. The only time I encountered a windowless one was in Arizona and even then there actually are windows but they don't look out from where the congregation meets. Why would they?
Don't you know that most church buildings have stained glass or curtains on those sort of windows, when they have them at all, so that the congregation is not distracted by traffic, kids on the lawn or what have you?
I think it also has to do with keeping the heating and cooling bills down.
The Kingdom Hall I went to in California, had windows .. not just any windows, but places with big open arched windows like you see in desert sort of architecture, to take advantage of the winds.
The Kingdom Hall that I first saw, ever, had windows and later became a Pentacostle church building because the Kingdom Hall was moved to another building that was in town, unlike the other building, and it was also chock full of windows.
When I went to meetings with Catholics, Baptists, Mormons, Pentacostles (didn't really go to meeting with them on purpose but was there to pick up my kids), walked into a Mosque, walked into a Temple for Jews, walked into a Temple apparently dedicated to Kahli (sp?), there were usually no windows except in the more secular places .... unless they were high up and/or you couldn't see out of them.
Since you did not approve my comment on that blog, I hope you do on this blog, If not, I will just create a blog. I don't know what you are even talking about. I seldom, if ever, do not approve comments regardless of how I feel about them or the person and I'll thank you not to spread rumors in regards to my behavior. Unless it is a very recent comment either you did not make it or it was approved. And if it was a very recent comment then I have only begun to go through and approve those of people who are not on my friends list. Which I had to take to doing due to very hateful racist and sexual commentary by some members of MD.
I know, as a Baptist, that if people can not come to me to ask that a bear witness or answer questions, am I a "practicing Baptist"? Oh lovely for them. I know that too. I also know that you can come ask that of pretty much any other religion. Is there a point to you saying it though?
There are really no such thing as practicing and non-practicing witnesses. Well, some are inactive, yes, because of health or for reasons that are currently not known. But if the reasons are known and they involve a change of heart, a desire not to do the will of God, they are not "non practicing" they are "disfellowshipped" until and unless they come back. Which is nice as I would find it horribly embarrassing to belong to a religious group who knowingly and willingly allowed it's members to seek out prostitutes, strippers, be strippers and prostitutes, engage in homosexual acts, watch pornography, commit adultery, etc. and then at worst give them a slap on the wrist for that behavior but wouldn't even follow the teachings of the Christ in separating them from the people who are trying to do what is right.
oh, p.s, I was told years ago from a practicing Jehovah Witness that only 142,000 will be allowed into heaven. On the above mentioned website their are 6,000,000 through-out the world. Some of them are going to be reeeaalllly disappointed. Oh PS: You badly misunderstood what they were saying if you believe that is true. And by the way you worded this part of your comment, I can now see you were only here, not to seek information, but to spread disinformation.
I guess that makes you, now, really disappointed. lol
Keep it up and I will block you: not for disagreement, but for rudeness and being unpleasant.
