Every Christmas, a few hundred bikers get together at Markham Park in the West end of Fort Lauderdale. It's at the crossroads of I-595, I-75 and The Sawgrass Expressway, nearly 10 miles from downtown Fort Lauderdale. These bikers are on a mission... it's not just any ride, it's the 'Toys for Tots' Christmas charity toy drive. A few times, Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler led the bikers on their appointed rounds. Although I've never attended the drive, I have seen them in formation along the highway, usually accompanied by the Florida Highway Patrol.
Earlier this week, I lost some 2,000 e-mails when MD cleaned out their system. The oldest e-mail I have now is a reply from someone who posted a 'biker blog' It seems fitting all of this to have taken place when it did.
I'm not going to claim credit for the original blog... but I'm linking it to my blog in hopes you will remember we share the roadway with others... many are bikers who have family and friends left to grieve their loss when someone gets careless on the roadways... especially Christmas and holidays.
Be safe, be happy, remember the road is to be shared.

i greatly appreciate this my friend there are alot of bad repustations that come from bikers but not all live by that so called code. As part of the legion riders post 67 we do alot of different stuff i recently donated my 50/50 money to coats for kids when we had our last run. Money can be made every single day but the price of love cant be bought. thanks for the blog .....kudos to you

At Christmas, the bikers ride into the grounds at the Baptist Childrens Home here in Thomasville and bring toys and clothes for the kids. Then a Biker ministry, His Laboring Few brings toys and food in for the needy .. it's an awesome sight to see all those bikes rumbling down Main Street !
