Just curious as to what happened to the Chinese lead paint scare?

For a while there, before the holidays, that was all we heard about. And it sounded like things were going to be looked at closer, and maybe things are...heck I don't know.

But I will tell you this.......

To me? It seems like there is much more to this story. Possibly.

I mean.....There is that huge country, making all this stuff and sending it here day after day, year after year...and suddenly we discover there is lead in the toys? But....but.....they make EVERYTHING.......

So what better way to attack the USA than to have China putting lead in everything including the china. Or something even more toxic and undetectable. Or at least, not expected. Year after year, kids grow up ....with incremental lead poisoning. All below the radar.

It would seem to me that every time we put something on, slip in between the sheets, or make a toast to the New Year, we should wonder what all this stuff is made of they keep sending over here. We found it in toys! Doesn't it stand to reason they use it elsewhere as well? And then...after you come to that conclusion, ask yourself...why? And what else?

I just can't seem to come up with a more effective way of destroying a potential enemy country than to be it's sole supplier of most of the stuff it uses and consumes on a daily basis. And making all that stuff just barely poisonous.

And why we don't hear about it ? Why is it gone form the general news and such?
That may be because the problem just ain't with the toys. Maybe they have discovered it is much bigger. Maybe that glass you are holding?.....maybe it has lead in it too. Maybe there are so many things that are being "doctored" and sent to us, that if it were known, the economy would go bust, society would panic and ....and....and....


Ah hell....lets forget it. It's New Years. Why do I even care about stuff like that?
I don't. I don't give but a moments thought to chit like that. But is does seem rather curious to me is all.
Lets drink shall we?

I am gonna have fun tonight playing tunes and flirtin' with girls. Free beer, Irish whiskey and dancing.....hell...who cares if there is lead in the tablecloth. Or the silverware.Or the air conditioner filters....

Time to celebrate something. Anything....it won't matter. Tip your glasses.....clink 'em together....and hope, somewhere in the back of your mind, they weren't made in China.

Drink Irish right outta the bottle....then there will be no worries about lead. Same with a good Irish girl. Drink her right out of the bottle too.

Happy New Year ya'll...See ya next year!.......The Year of the Rat is it?
