Have you ever looked at a profile that just jumped out at you? In spite of some desire to read and know EVERYTHING about someone before allowing one's self to FEEL anything, here is a profile with so very few words, yet you feel you already know that person? Maybe this is the very definition of soulmates?
The last date I was on was two years ago. I met a gal and went to dinner. In the first instant when I looked at her I knew that we would be together. I knew the type of person she was by her eyes and her smile and the way she looked at me; my intuition was absolutely right. Unfortunately, her alcoholism got in the way and destroyed all that was good. Looking back I have no regrets. In the time I knew her she was able to begin living again. It took all that to convince her to go to rehab. She has always thanked me for helping her to SEE. It took the vision of possibilites combined with the loss of a relationshipe for that to happen and although we are no longer together we are at least long distance friends.
I saw a face on a profile recently which reminded me of every good feeling I have ever had. Although I have determined myself to never again engage in a long distance relationship, sometimes I see someone who may just inspire the abandonment of any such inhibition. And although I am mature enough to recognize such initial feelings as infatuation, I will probably always be one to explore every possibility until I find my dream. So here is a poem which expresses those first thoughts of feeling that I felt. (I sent it to her first, and if it scares her altogether away I will know she is not the romantic soul I supposed her to be..."the first test") I think the poem has captured them well and combines the delicate balance between hope and apprehension.
sculpted fingers raised posed above her brow she looks with sparkling eyes of mystery Though never have I met her some feeling says I may as she writes and shares same feelings about me
There is an ember in my heart which always seems to glow through poetry and words I tend to share and though I am determined long distance not to go something in my heart's already there
For now I see a profile (illusion it may be) But hope springs forth eternal, and is mine past fear of feelings worn upon a sleeve... would I dare embrace this fantasy divine?
Love is like a current, a river from a stream beginning from one droplet of a dream

I was trying to find this earlier, I thought it was appropriate.
I don’t believe you can map fate So even planning for a date You won’t know what you truly feel Until you’re there and it’s for real
So just step back and give it time Just as you would a good red wine Give it time to breathe, mature That way you’ll both know for sure
You can’t create your destiny, If it’s meant you both will see, In time, space and reality………
……a friendship for eternity

ok...now, can someone tell me how to split my kudos, one for you and one for Misschoos.
Steve, I have received messages of that type from gentlemen. It shows me, right from the beginning, that I'm meeting a thoughtful, feeling, expressive man....and, I appreciate it. As a matter of fact, there have been a few times their words have definitely hit me in my heart....alas, they are "long distance", but the indescribable something that bonds us, has us still corresponding, never knowing whether we will ever meet or not.....but, both richer for having corresponded.
Fondly,
Knittin Kitten

I get poems from scammers all the time...
But she is very lucky to get a poem written just for her...
I've been told I was a muse for the words to a special song written just for me that I will never hear...
