Turning over each new year may be symbolic of revolving. I hesitate at making resolutions since they are so easily broken. I used to joke that people needed to make New Years Revolutions as if turning over a new leaf. I get so whacky at times it seems a leaf would not be enough, so maybe I need to turn over a whole new tree. Instead of yelling "Happy New Years" as the year changed, maybe I should have shouted "Timberrrrrrrrrrr"

Unwritten Pages

Our lives are as a written book
a page for every day
some are filled with poetry
others empty lay.

Some are filled with words of song
others filled with mirth
sadness turns some pages blue
no line without worth

Our faces illustrate each page
wrinkling with time
our bodies falter as we age
no longer so sublime

But our hearts are more important
than ever in the past
and wisdom comes with aging
some gifts are saved for last

Yet pages left unwritten
depend on what you do
the past can never be erased
the future's up to you.

Steve:

Being a bit older than most of the folks on here, I relate very much to your well-placed words... There goes another kudo.....I can only read 3 more today...I expect they will be worthy of kudos, too.
