lifted by the gentle wind
it floats across the street
tumbling like an acrobat
landing at my feet

it is an eastern tumbleweed
come to say hello
face is smiling happily
wherever it may go

I see them in the alley
across the grassy knoll
crashing into fences
and by the fishin' hole

they creep into my kitchen,
living room and car
north, south, east and west
they travel near and far

see the eastern tumbleweed
from Arkansas they grew
and multiplied like rabbits
bred by the WalMart crew
